Anyone else watch the Panorama documentary on this tonight? Lot of information about these scumbags and their behaviour after this crime.
If they have any remorse or honour they will hang themselves in their cell's.

Heard on the radio this morning from a Derby Evening Telegraph reporter that the money the locals raised to pay for the children's funerals he wanted for himself, some £11,000 and to add the most bitter insult he wanted to raffle the teddy bears and toys that were left on the pathway outside to make more money. Evil **** and I really really hope that as said earlier on here that he gets his 4rsehole stretched for the next 25 years.

By the way according to the Panorama program he even got the wife to join in a threesome with his mate whilst in the travelodge that the coppers had put him in before the kids were buried. Hangings too good for some people.

 

We all expect and hope that he will go down for a very long time, even a real life sentence.

But if he had got very drunk and killed all the kids in a car smash the max sentence would be 10 years (is that correct, perhaps it's 6 x 10 years??).

How does that square?

If this is isn't a reason to bring back capital punishment, I don't know what is.

Easy way out for them may be, but I'd rather that than risk anymore children suffering at the hands of that evil, twisted individual.

life in prison but will serve at least 15 years, life should be life!

and the other 2 sentenced to 17 years each but will only have to serve half of it? whats the point of giving them 17 years. if you give them a sentence then they should serve that. those 6 kids are gone forever not a few years, and those responsable should pay for what they did. with any luck they will get what they deserve every single day in prison even the woman, i dont for one minuite condone hitting women but ide give her a pasting if i could along with the other two.

Someone reported that he was intending to sell the shrine made by his neighbours for a wodge of cash! I find that hard to believe, even of him!

They have got big sentences but what they did was bound to put their childrens' lives in jeopardy since it was so dangerous as was effectively proved.

I think it would not be a step too far if they were never released from gaol!

Makes you wonder what you have to do to get locked up forever? Burning 6 children to death and possibly out in 15 years all to get back with some woman and have a bigger council house? In what universe can that be seen as justice?

 

The sentences seem extremely lame...esp considering a copper was sentenced for 23 years today for stealing drugs.

 

What's really disgusting is that so much money was handed out with so little responsibility in return. Why wouldn't he keep sponging if this was the response. He was amongst the top 2% of earners in this country, all without working. Discussing if this is the best way to run things is responsible, not disgusting. Its disgusting that this situation developed, and disgusting that you are trying to close down the debate on it, and disgusting that people are paying more tax to fund this freeloading scum. Also like to add that in the few programmes I've seen about the Philpott case, all the adults involved came across as being complete and utter pond life however connected.

Philpott was an evil man long before he got onto benefits, repeatedly stabbed a female whilst he was still working so benefit system didn't create him as such.

If anyone is to blame it is those who set up and then operated a system that allowed this vile man to father all those children, live with two 'wives' in a council house whilst claiming 60k in benefits and not looking for work!

90% of those who claim are genuine, probably more but some aren't and instead of dealing with just those screwing the system over the government are using it as an excuse to treat everyone as potential philpotts.

Blair and Brown along with their cabinets should have been in the dock alongside them!

it was actually to get his 5 kids off his ex mistress, they were due in court for a hearing the day he set fire to his house. It was all a malicious plan that he hatched for months before saying that his ex had sent threatening messages saying she was going to torch the house, he made it very clear to tell as many people this, im not disputing the fact that he wanted these 5 kids aswell as his 6 to get a bigger house. He was sick in the head.
