Police need grounds to reasonably suspect someone committed a crime before they arrest them for that crime. They can't just arrest someone because they feel like it.

I've noticed a massive rise in obviously foreign looking disabled people begging on our streets the last few years.

Back on topic, if petrol was used as the accelerant, most people have no idea how flammable petrol is,that the vapour can spread a long way to propagate the fire and how fast the growth rate of a hydrocarbon fire can be in a compartment i.e. the front hall.

Funny you should mention that Steve........I decided back in 1992 that the back garden was a tip in my Didsbury house so had a fire to get rid of the rubbish. It wouldn't get going so I decided to stick some petrol on to it (it had gone out) from the lawnmower..

Threw the petrol on, went into the house for the matches and lit the thing !!

I lost eyebrows and hair plus some burns.........the petrol fumes (according to the hospital) flow like a river and then almost explode..

It's easy to underestimate these things.

I was on a firefighting course a few years ago and they did a demo where they tipped water into a pan of boiling fat. The steam explosion and flames were of astonishing power. I was standing at least 20 feet away and the heat took my breath away.

Arrest means nothing to be fair, the police now have what 24-48hrs to charge them or let them go.

There's obviously something suspicious hence the arrest but it may just be that their stories are not straight (Losing 6 kids, I wouldnt know my **** from my elbow either)

I suspect they will be let go in a few hours, I just cant believe that they would kill their own kids.

 

Where were his other kids? Didn't he have a lots more? In care, with other mum??

If they were involved, repeat if, then it seems plausible that it was Plan B to burn the place down to get a bigger property. Stupidly assuming that they could rush upstairs and get the kids to safety. Perhaps they were seen by a neighbour.
