I doubt they would be able to operate safely, she is so huge. Then she would be left with so much excess skin, she would need another operation.
What a shame. I cannot understand how anyone, never mind one so young, can get to such a size

Blimey that's my home town. I didn't even know about this until now. It's blatantly the mothers fault.

I assume there is a psychological issue somewhere, either with the mother or daughter. I doubt sheer gluttony alone would get you to that size.

I think there must be something in the individual.

Some people are just going to be fat. However, in the animal world the fat gene probably means unlikely to a good breeding partner and likely to die early.

We are now advanced enough that natural selection has stopped working for the human race.

I think the term "carers" is used here for the parents; like I used the word "caregivers" for them. They have primary responsibility to care for the child. They should have taught and monitored her eating habits. If they found it difficult, they should have taken medical advice.

A lot of people have emotional attachment with food. At a workplace, a 30-something woman grazes snacks all day in front of her computer, and cries of putting on weight. Her foot injury prevents her from exercising, and she finds it impossible to control this hand-to-mouth (literally) phenomenon. There's another one who is not fat at all, quite slim actually, and doesn't give monkeys to eating cr@p. As soon as she gets into the office, she has a terrible need to dig into her greasy McDonald breakfast on her desk. Their office doesn't start before 9.15, and is only 3 miles away from her home, but it is impossible for her to consume breakfast at home before coming into the office. Then all day, she grazes on sweets or crisps along with her lunch. She manages her work-related anxiety with putting food in her mouth all day long. Both ladies are highly annoying to their colleagues as the first one whinges about her weight all day long, and the second one dances around with her false persona of looking ecstatic for God knows what. They both say themselves that they have emotional dependency on food. The second one cares not, but the first one finds it impossible to do anything about it, though. I think that their manager needs to bang their headss together, and call it a day.

IMO this constant grazing along with computer work should be banned in the offices. People should be allowed to drink coffee and tea with their computer work, and that's about it. Eat only at the lunch break away from your PC- end of.

There is always a feeder involved in these cases, and the feeder is the mother, for whatever reason, perhaps to keep control. It could also be a munchousen by proxy thing going on, either way the mother is the source of the girls problems.

£100K to rescue her out of her house. I find that more disturbing. In the Daily Fail so I will take it with a pinch of salt.

I eat my breakfast about ten, cant face it before then, cant eat before I cycle in the morning, if I did it would end up at the side of the road, so end up eating at my desk, can see however why someone eating all day and moaning about being fat could be annoying.

Your reason is understandable, Jacko. I don't think you have to have your mouth going all day with food either, like those two have. I reckon if the food is away from their grips, those two will end up eating each other after eating all the rest of their collegues as well as their computers. They eat everyone's brains with their stupid acts (one moaning and one dancing around for attention seeking + with chewing noise from her mouth and crackling food wrappers) all day as it is. Freaks.

Just to add, if food gets banned from computer desks in all offices, I think it will be a good thing to fight obesity issue among working adults. You will also see people paying more attention to work and less attention to food, hence better productivity. Then the reasonable and rational ones like you (Jacko) can still have your breakfast at 10, but you and alike will have to go into the kitchen or canteen area to consume it while your computer boots up. Easily done, really. How about that?

I feel very sorry for the poor girl.

I hope that it can all be sorted eventually and that she manages to reach a proper and managable weight.

It amazed me, walking round Costco, that most people were overweight to a greater or lesser degree, some massive people in there, they just seem to be wallowing in food with no concept or inclination to be any different, seem to give no more thought to it than a Labrador raiding bins.

We really are turning into a nation of Fat ****ers, it is like it has become normal to be overweight and being massively Obese isn't that unusual, saw whole families in there of very fat people, saw a girl of about eight who was probably double her normal weight.

Perhaps if you are too fat you dont get any benefits, or any benefit money isn't to be spent on ****, booze, sweets, crisps, biscuits, cakes, pies or whatever, surely if done electronically it could be done nowadays.

Simple.
Over certain body fat index no nhs treatment.
Unless there's some underlining medical condition for it

It's only fair then, that if that was implemented, those people didn't have to pay anything towards the NHS. Not everybody that is overweight is living on benefits.
