Good to see a proper traditional 'bike. I'd say it is a good choice.

I think its a nice bike, though from the pics looks like it could do with a bit of spit and polish.
When i'm in Belgium thats all you see the village women on is bikes going to the shops or whatever....

Yeah, the paintwork is dull, but it's utilitarian, it does a job and it does it well. It's actually only about 3 years old, but the styling hasn't changed for years. It doesn't need to as it's damn good.

All Dutch people have one, it's cultural, though they don't have to contend with driving on roads most of the time like we do

Claire, Ive ridden a similar Dutch bike between Rheden and Dieren (where the bike was probably built, near Arnhem) and it was brilliant - red tarmac cycle paths all the way, but I wouldnt want to do it here!

You're sounding desperate now!

Done quite a few miles since I got it, probably over 50 in a week and not used my car once The basket looks ace... I am a bit worried about what happens once the hot weather goes and the dreaded rain might have me reaching for my car keys

I have lots of advice for the council though with regard to their so called cycle network.... No drop kerbs, non-extistent signage, stupidly short cycle lanes (one near me is 3 metres long!), and trying to educate drivers that we are allowed on some pavements. Yes, I got shouted at today for being on the shared pavement by a driver! If he'd stopped, I would have asked him if he would have preferred me and my son to take our chances on the road with nutters like him....

Anyway, off to the dentist now and will check out their bike storage facility, LOL

That's the problem, this type of weather is short lived, won't be long before weeks of rain returns, fingers crossed it don't...I'm still in my sports vest but can feel a bit of a nip in the air...
