Should have washed the BO out of it.

I sold a couple of cycle tops lately. I dunno if I would want to buy old sweaty tops; too much like used underwear.

Well, in an update to this farce, I have just received an email from eBay customer support.

Apparently, as the other person in this case has kindly provided them with a tracking number, they've refunded her.

This parcel, whatever it is, in in the system somewhere and hasn't even been delivered to me yet.

I just pray that it's the phone in the parcel, and that it's in a saleable condition.

Gumtree for me from now on, methinks.

oh... my fees for this auction were about £10.50, which I've already paid. Am I likely to get these reimbursed?

My company uses eBay as a side line and they have got over 30,000+ feedback.
We have had a customer pull this kind of trick.

What we have been advised by our Paypal account manager is to refuse delivery. Paypal then have to give you your money back because the tracking reference shows the delivery wasn't completed.

In the end the customer never sent the items back.

Use the above advise at your own discretion

Well, as we all suspected and expected I received a damaged item in the post today. Inadequately packaged and switched on.

NOT happy. I've appealed the eBay case/decision and await an answer.

I'll let you all know....

Hi, I had a good experience from buying from you. I e-mailed you when I was going to pay for the phone and you emailed me back, which was nice of you. The BlackBerry Bold was in good condition and is working really well. So yes I will definitely buy from you again in the future.
End Quite.......

Bizarre???? I dont see why, given the above statement the guy obviously received the phone in perfect condition then damaged it (droped or otherwise) and as a result decided to pull a fast one and get his cash back.

The world is full of gob$hites mate.

I have been told if you contact the police and log it as a crime, you will get a crime number then ebay have to repay your cash, end of.
my pal had a similar thing happen to him, they gave him a crime number and he was paid out same day. The other guy was never contacted by the police, but at least my pal got his cash back.

Thanks for the responses so far.

Well, I appealed the (now closed) case and linked to the photographs above. I also quoted her previous comment about the phone being fine after 2 weeks.

I then sat back for the expected long wait for a response.

I was woken this morning to a flurry of messages from eBay. An email stating they've reversed the decision, followed by another email from PayPal saying £107 has just dropped back into my account.

Bizarre. But hopefully I can now put this to bed.

Thanks again.

Steve

um just as a side thought, because they found in your fav. that means the phone now belongs to the chap who bought it, have they told you to return it, only reason i ask is because maybe there a way he can counter claim saying he has ended up with sodall?

sorry mate, but just a thought, may be as well to send it back to him recorded delivery (take photos of packaging up) so he cant play up, and then this is def. over once and for all.

The phone's in storage now. I appreciate what you're saying and I'll be ready to send it to whomever should they request it. I refuse to pay for postage. thanks for your concern though mate. Appreciated.

I think that you just need to act courteously and be seen to be helpful during the resolution stage. Stand your ground, argue that a refund is not necessary. Maybe not being an **** helped my appeal. Who knows?

Good luck!!

Id suggest Paypal have taken the hit and refunded both of you. Legal action etc would take both time and effort exceeding the monetary value of the case. Seen in happen before.

thats wrong, if you log in to ebay resolution centre and look through the small print it will probably state "ebay funded" and something like "you were not found at fault"

I've had a couple of auctions closed recently as I've stated 'no paypal' as they do insist you offer it as a payment method. Been stung a few times, and if eBay wasnt such a good way of getting rid of stuff I wouldn't use them.

I believe they were taken to task in Australia about this and are no longer allowed to insist you accept PayPal as a payment method.

I sold a BMW nav unit a few years ago. Took pics of the unit and serial no. when I sent it, buyer raised a claim saying it was broken, returned a completely different unit and still got a refund from PP despite my emails proving it was different.

They really are a law unto themselves.

Cheers - how much am I looking at? I assume it's just the LCD behind the main screen - or do they come as a sealed unit?

I don't have any spares here, otherwise I'd have just swapped it out - plenty of 8520's though

You can get the screens on eBay Ido a lot of 9700's and thr screens are about £20

If you're confident it's very easy to do your self only a couple of screws.
