Love my APS 3.5" race exhaust. Just need to get the coulender out of the tail pipe to get the best out of it. But don't want to wreck it as occassionally need to be polite.

I'd run a 3" straight pipe from de-cat then fit a varex cannon if you can afford it. That way you can have it bl*ody loud when you want, and shut the car up for when on long trips. Loud exhausts get tiring very quickly.

Ive got a STI Genome back box that has had all the baffling removed, that was quite loud on my Spec C, have a full 3inch milltek now so it would'nt fit else i would still have it on the car, looks quite original but is much louder
Must get round to putting it on here for sale as it's getting in the way now.

I had a catback Cobra race tube (cheaper version of the RCM job) and with a standard downpipe it was louder than a fully decatted Nur Spec-r! It was £274 from Cobrasport in Sheffield which is good value as its a well made but of kit. Can mate to a 3" or standard flange downpipe, just tell them your requirements.
Too loud for my neighbours and I could just cope with it. With a decat downpipe though, no chance.

In Oxford , I have been pulled about 16 times in 12 months of ownership of my P1. It's got a Blitz NUR-Spec on , so the guys with these really loud systems , do you ever get issues with your local police with the noise it is making?

How loud are you looking for? I have just fitted a cobra 3" Turbo back system with sports cat and no resonator in center section. I like loud but this is close to my limits. You can definitely hear the car coming before you see it.

I hope you're not carrying young children in the car. That was one reason for getting rid of my race tube. I did a decibel check on the motorway with a gadget i had and it read nearly 90 dB at approx 75mph. That's way over the recommended 80-85 safeguard and I wasn't prepared to risk my sons hearing for the sake of an obnoxious exhaust (and i like me loud systems - my chavvy guilty pleasure ).

When I picked my car up from it's previous owners I had never heard something so loud. By the time I got home my ears were ringing so badly I didn't get a wink of sleep for 2 whole days
