Have a question about the subaru Bluetooth hands free system for any experts out there.

Unfortunately, the one I purchased on here doesn't seem to work. When plugged into the stereo and all wired up correctly it seems to work at first when you turn the ignition on and asks to pair a phone. However, I have tried searching for the device with every phone of every brand and age I can get my hands on but nothing can actually see it as a Bluetooth device. It's like the units Bluetooth is switched off or just not working. Tried for hours earlier with no luck at all.

Also the button interface module is supposed to have both green and red led's alight at the start, which they are, but so dim that you have to hold it to your eye to see them. Doesn't seem right. The centre button seems to work and turn the volume up ok though. Strange.

Unfortunately it looks like it may be broken. Reluctant to spend £30 on a cheap ebay parrot update cable as 1 the unit says its Delphi not parrot, and 2 it may be buggered anyhow.

Any advise would be appreciated.

Thanks, Andy

the lights on the the answer module are dull on mine so done worry about it.when you try to search for the unit,

when you do your bluetooth searcch on the phone do u hold down the volume control as it sends a signal out just like some phones need to be made visable.

if you still have probs then hold down the red hang up on the module for 10-15secs and it will tell you memory is now clear as it stores all phones on the memory until its user deleted.

hope this helps mate

To erase memory its red and green together, and yes, like Tom said, the led's are dull anyway. I'm pretty sure they can only store 5 phones in total, so if memory is full, I'm sure it does say when you go to connect.

If you like, I can update for you, I have the cable.

Thanks for the tips lads. Didn't say anything about memory full when turned on, just asked to pair the phone. Will try the suggestions this morning. Also thanks for the update cable offer mate, if it comes to it I might try it.

Thanks.

Right, tried all the suggestions but no joy. The memory clear function is initiated by holding the red and green buttons down together for linger than 2 seconds. Managed this successfully every time.

Tried holding down the centre button while using all my phones to search one by one but no luck. Also tried holding down green, red, centre, combinations of all with every phone but no joy.

Think its buggered.

Same thing happened to one of mine. So I bought a new blue box, and replaced it. I then got the update cable about a year later, so though I'd try an update, and it fixed it.
So if you want send to send it to me. I'll have a go at updating it free of charge.
I'd only use Parrots latest firmware, v5.25, their support is pretty good. So if you want to email them, to ask if it'll work, they reply pretty quick. I know its not got parrot branding, but I'm sure Delphi are the parent company.
