Although I see what your saying the execise I was told to do are an more of a stretch that if it was going to do more harm then good you would feel it. It's not poor at all, streches are good for the body. - I've been lifting fairly heavy boxes of card since day one of having mine and the physio guy actually said it was good to twist and pull it as overtime people that don't will slowly become stiff and unable to bend.

BLU, how about paying for a private session just to see what they say. It will be worth the £35 and youll feel amazing 2 days later. I've been waiting since DEC for the NHS..

Needle goes in, they take x-ray (to see where needle is), needle comes out, back in, x-ray, in more, x-ray etc. then he touched the nerve with the needle backed it off and injected.
That does hurt a bit I almost passed out when the surgeon touched the right nerve, pain like I'd never felt before
Your miraculous recovery may have more to do with the injection than you think.

I've discussed my sciatica issue with my manager today. Work are going to refer me for physio so shouldn't take long to get seen. After all they'd rather me be in work than off sick!

The recovery happened about 10 months after the op! Also, the real trouble I was having was more with my back physically, apparently I have a lot of degeneration of my joints etc, look of a tired old man I think he said. I've got prolapsed disc and the MRI scans show some calcified stuff kicking about, think he said my discs were free of juice and now brittle after years like it. The next op was going to be disc removal but he scared me a bit saying it would be complex. Apparently he can pull out a fresh prolapsed disc easily but he'd be digging around and chiseling bits out to remove mine. He was quite keen to tell me I could end up buggered if it went **** up.

The block op was supposed to stop the nerve pain which in itself wasn't the cause of me being stuck bent over and not being able to walk. It wouldn't have helped my back trouble just masked the nerve pain.
