How can the on us be on the buyer when he cant even view the lights before buying them . We live in a world where we need to trust to a point and thats how ebay works. If something is described as MINT we take it as so. You don not expect o have to spend £50 of your own money to make them work. I certainly would mis-guide anyone with what i seel and state they are in full working order when they are not ....kinda belittles the point dont you think ?
Difference of opinion i guess but i take mint as mint sorry !!!!

Thats all im asking for I guess shaun not just a " lights were fine when they were taken out" I dont do people over and Im quite willing to accept the cost of repair as good faith payment . I could take this to small claims courts but whats the point id rather sort it out amicably .

You would lose in court, the Caveat Emptor / sold as seen wins against the sellers short description of the item and they do look nice in the pictures. He never described them as a new item either.
Hopefully the seller will be willing to help.

So if i advertised a washing machine lets say on ebay and said perfect working order but i actually took the insides out and it was just a shell , I as the seller am covered ? seems strange , thats why ebay has buyer protection to avoid rip offs mate . Heres hoping he will help out if not then ill stick by my guns .

For the sake of what I guess its £40 worth of work I would think the seller can just refund £30 the buyer can swallow £10 and you can both move on as there is no definitve correct answer to this it is all a point of view.

Thats what i think because the rear is quite exposed and is in quite a bad state with oxidisation etc , if i had seen the plugs turst me i wouldnt have bought them but i did see the fronts which as you can see look great . And as described as MINT i presumed the backs were too

As above mint condition, ready to fit into any bugeye wrx,
these are painted wr blue,
these are plug and play so no need to cut or splice wires.

As an aside, anyone who puts mint cosmetic painted items on the road to photograph, without putting something underneath, is a wrongun

In his defence, a couple of months back I went to Market Weighton to fix another Morette equipped Bugeye, where a mechanic had watched all the wiring crumble to dust before his eyes.
So I believe it's just wear and tear on a six year old product. IMHO.
dunx
P.S. It took me a whole hour to "sus" the job and build a new wiring loom, and I made sure dip & main stayed on for full beam...

Hi
Just got in and on the net,
I never thought of taking pics of the back of the lights as there was just wires and no one asked for any other pictures when i sold them and as they worked fine on my car (passed MOt and everything with no issues). Also from what I could see there was little stone chips on them as well. No accident or crack damage.
having read through the post i honestly thought that anyone who bought them would be able to fit them straight and they would work like they did on my car.
I have now come to know that the wiring car become deterioated over time as advised by many above,
Now when the buyer contacted my origionally, it came across that I had ripped him off and sold him some duff lights that did not work on full beam,
now I dont use the full beam each and everyday (living in city area) so never thought about that it could cause a problem, Nor did I think of the oxidation on the plugs.
The buyer then stated all he wanted a full refund, now I work from 7.30 am to 9.30pm some days so dont get on the net some days and no where as much as i used to on here. I did not get a chance to come to any other agreement.
I have tried to contact the garage and had no luck in speaking with the person who is workign on the car,
In order to brings matters to an END I will offer the buyer a refund to get the loom repaired at 35 pounds which I think is an hours labour.
I think if the buyer gets someone on here to fit them it will be much easier as many people like Dunx and Jonmc have made looms and fitted all types of lights from sti headlight, morettes etc.
thanks for the help on sorting ths one out.
