Alll our talk on here over the years about the perils and day to day 'highs and lows' of cycle commuting in and around Edinburgh city centre, your balanced and rational outlook probably saved me from strangling at least 20 Edinburgh taxi drivers...
So sorry we never met up mountain biking in the Pentlands
To come on here and find out that the local news story I have been following was about you is so so brutal
You wrote on one of the cycle commuting threads on here when you were talking about cycling in the pentlands, "you'll recognise me, I'll be the one wearing bright yellow". Laughed about that often.
Sorry we never met
RIP Andy

Im genuinely saddened to read this. I didnt know Andy personally, but I got along well with him here and genuinely liked him, which isnt something that happens often.
What a sad, sad day.

But thinking back to Andy's level-headed and good-humoured posts, that obviously couldn't have been the case, and it's almost unbearable that his life was taken away by a random piece of crappy driving while he was commuting on his bicycle.
R.I.P. again, Andy.

I read the local news about Andy and thought he looked like a good guy. Can't believe he posted on scoobynet, I remember some of his posts. R.I.P Andy.

I dont think words can discribe losing a member of the community, especially someone like Andy who use to be a very active member on here, and everyone liked him
My sincere condolences go out to his family and friends, especially his partner, Donna, at such a painful time
RIP Andy

Andy was one of my best mates and I will miss him for the rest of my life. He was one of the most loyal and true friends anyone could wish for. We are all in complete shock just now,
RIP Andy

Terrible news for everyone one who knew him.
Our thoughts go out to those who's life he touched in one way or another.

SiPie, this post really brings the terrible sadness of it all home to me. His loved ones, kids (if he had any, I don't know) -what must they be going through? When I first read the RIP sticky and the fact it was a road accident I mistakenly assumed it was going to be a Subaru crash.
R.I.P. Andy.
