I don't have any idea who that is. Probably from some crap TV show that you are welcome to waste your pitiful life viewing.

It must pain you every time I'm right, and I don't post unless I am. It's a TV show isn't it? I'm right.

Possibly because the browsing experience is so good on Android operating system that the users don't have to waste bandwidth trying to find websites that work properly with their phone I've certainly found the web experience to be far better on the Galaxy SII than on my old iPhone (faster, slicker, more compatible - not just with flash)...

i.e you don't waste bandwidth when web browsing as Android users don't have to work around the inefficiencies of the rather naff safari browser. The Apple usage statistics are likely skewed due to this fact.

Of course it may also be that most Android users just use the phone to look up what they want/need to. They don't feel the need to sit in cafes/bars waving their device around showing everyone how they can browse the web etc

For example, I was looking for specifications for Kitchenaid food mixers they other day whilst shopping in the Jan sales. Unfortunately, the website for this brand is driven almost entirely by flash. I could get the information on the iphone, but it would have taken longer, I would have visited more websites, downloaded more data etc, and so skewed the Apple usage statistics. On the Android phone I could just go straight to the page I wanted.

I have encountered many sites like this (not just flash based ones), and I have found that since switching to an Android based phone, my monthly data usage has gone down (despite using the phone just as much, if not more than before).

p.s. I don't drink

This man speaks the truth!

All joking aside any 'neutrals' reading this would do to remember what is written here when choosing a smartphone/tablet. Apple mobile devices only let you access some of the web right now, Android gives you access to the lot. Fact!

OK, so I pander to you and visit the Kitchenaid web site, it asks if I'd like to view a non flash - hence less bandwidth - version, I view the site. Are you on Drugs then>

As is often the case with this subject matter, I see things have degenerated into a trolling fest. Therefore I'm locking this thread pending a clean up.

Right, I've re-opened this thread in the hope that certain inviduals will not re-ignite the same tired old slanging match involving the same people.

Well, when I say "hoping", I mean: if they do, the thread will be re-closed and infractions issued!

Play nice, please!

PS I've also changed the thread title to something a little less provocative.... just to be on the safe side

Just out of interest, what iPhone did you previously own?

The only one fairly comparable is the 4s. *Otherwise it's a bit like saying my new Samsung led tv is much better than my Sony tv, where the Sony was an old CRT.

So basically we can Only debate subjects that have been covered to death on this site and no light hearted banter can take place?

Oh dear.......

How did you get that I wonder?!?!

Several members were bickering about something that had been done to death totally took the thread off topic with said bickering.....even if it was "light hearted banter", which the language used would suggest otherwise. I can tell you that, light hearted or not, the people involved were putting people off contributing advice for the OP - the thread was brought to my attention via RTMs.

Anyway, the OP has said the matter is resolved so not really much point in keeping this one open!
