Fair play to you for having the presence of mind to hold fire a minute and loose yourself out slowly, im sure in that kind of situation a lot of people would have panicked and released the catch and ended up badly hurt.
As others have said, the car is replaceable, i bet your gutted due to all the effort thats gone into her of late, all of whuch from what i can see has been done the proper way with no shortcuts. Your on the mend and thats the most important thing.

Been off the net for a few days so was gobsmacked when Mark told me what had happened . Hope the recovery to the "shandy hand" is better soon.

Quick update, Ade was re-admitted yesterday and will be in for the next few days with the possibility of another op to look forward to

Thanks for all the kind words guys Finally got out last night having escaped another op. Hopefully on the mend now, another 2 weeks off work for sure and hopefully thats it. They are going on the absorbant dressing and antibiotic route, so the hole in my elbow can continue to drain the last of the infection. Still can't bend my arm much after they rejoined my tendon, but it is starting to bend so fingers crossed i'll get full motion back.
Thank you to Mr Jarvis for coming to visit me, keeping everyone informed and starting the thread in the first place. Cheers pal.

Popped in to see "Leftie" and can report he is on the mend. Which is more than can be said for the car.
Having had a look, it's amazing how untouched the engine bay is but apart from the boot lid and side skirts all the panels are FUBAR'd in a big way.
Ad, good to see you mate and considering the state on the car, you are a very lucky bloke. Goes to show how well the chassis coped with the damage. But better it than you.
