Looks very clean. Twin scroll with the higher redline makes the engine feel like it will keep going and going

Fitted some rear mud flaps today (nothing too garish)

Also fitted a resized number plate and front splitter, finishes it off I think.

Off to RCM next week for a full service and map, looking forward to seeing it on the RR. I'll let you know how it goes.

You can put a jap spec plate on that and have the letters even smaller as that is uk size you have on there now and then it will look much better again.
I'm running jap size lettering on the front of mine

I ordered that from e-numberpates.com a few weeks ago, not only did they not deliver them for 2 weeks and after I opened up a Paypal dispute they sent me them again but the wrong size I had originally ordeded. Couldn't be bothered sending them back, so just cut the front one down abit.

Hence, I DO NOT recommend them!

It's at RCM on Mon, Tue and possibly Wed Ian. Pity I couldn't have picked up those induction pipes off you in the morning if you were about?? I'm hoping for a fair figure, not sure what it is at the moment but if I get more than my WR1 then I'll be content!

Well the car spent Monday and Tuesday at RCM and although I was happy with the car when I took it I am even happier now! Due to a few unexpected bits and pieces that needed doing and an unexpectedly low result on the RR it was decided between Olly and myself that all cosmetic work would be done over these 2 days and the rest at a date in February.

To cut a long story short the previous owner or person trusted to work on the car was incompetent. To start with the ARB drop-links were incorrectly fitted and broken, the front after market coilovers were fitted wrong and to top it off there was a valve missing from the boost(?) pipe on the front of the turbo hence why it was only running 0.6 bar.

It's now alot more pleasant to drive and Olly took me out in it and he commented how much nicer it was to drive (sure he owes me a drive in the Gobstopper).

Anyway it's now running 276bhp, pretty much how it should be out the box. It should be upto circa 350bhp the next time it goes there.

I recommend RCM, truly excellent customer service, nice surroundings, state of the art dyno facility and a very helpful and friendly face in Olly Clark who kept me up to date with the car as it was being worked on.

Few shots from this afternoon:

TBH ive never seen more than 2 people get 400lbs out of a spec c (3 if you go for a standard twinscroll ) one being Bob Rawle who did H's Spec C (360/400lbs), that was my old car Richard Bulmer and the last person was Pete@Prosport.
From what ive seen, Duncan has never gotten anywhere near 400lbs out of a twin scroll, not many people can

Thats still a little low power and torque wise on a twin scroll unit, did you have the service done at the same time?
To give you a figure to aim for, Tx's MY05 pushed just under 300bhp out of the box, thats the lowest figure ive seen (well my original Spec C did 288bhp when new then gained a few more ponies to a top bhp mark of 316bhp, its very accurate as it was 5 years between going on the same rollers and then she ran 314bhp and 330odd lbs of torque).

Get her checked out by a mapper, your a few ponies down, could be the IAM has retarded a little, hence the lower figure(s)

Hello Tony,

Thanks for the figures to aim for. The RR was done after it was serviced so it should be in it's peak form. Olly will be having it for a week the next time it goes so once it's back I'll post the figures it achieves!

Cheers,

Rob

That should be good if Olly is having her for a week, he will have chance to go over her with a fine tooth comb and sort any issues out he finds, get you back up to "standard" power then mapped

Dont forget my Hawk Spec C it too ran 400 ft/lbs at 1.7bar (aggressive map by Powerstation!) on DSA Dyno. (though approx 375 ft/lbs on Powerstation dyno)
