i wouldnt put one on now. I had a hks hi power on my last sti 5 and it was just too loud inside the car for me. Exhausts like this sound amazing in tunnels or on somebody elses car!!
Maybe im just too old!
Ive got a 2.5" silenced hayward and scott centre section into a mongoose back box now and its perfect for me. Lovely deep burble at idle, not too loud or resonant at motorway speeds an roars going through tunnels.

Nur Spec R on mine.

It's even louder when there's no back seats in.

Love the sound of it, but I know that it would drive me insane on a long motorway drive.
I have a Miltek which sounds nice on tickover and when I put my foot to the floor, but cruising on the motorway it doesn't deafen me.

It also doesn't pi** my neighbours off half as much as it would if I had a Nur Spec!

I have one on my blob and it's mental! Starting my car to reverse it out my garage I have had people who live four streets from me telling me that they hear me leave for work

I got 3" straight through system really made big power diffrence on my standard turbo, but i've lost alot of the burble, hoping buying a sports cat will bring it back.

have you had it mapped?

A sports cat will make it quiter and not effect the burble in anyway

Thumbs down

Way too loud, will damage your hearing and that of any of your kids or friends in the car with you, cannot be used on track days. Apart from that it's great

RCM "quiet" system here.

i have 3 different back boxes for every mood all 3" the system is all deresonated and gt spec 2 headers.

I have the team ice which is nuts but quieter at tick over than the nur spec r but when above 3000rpm no contest did a db reading once if memory serves me well it read over 120 for the team ice, the nur spec was 112 not had chance to do the jetex backbox (what rev sell as there own) but it's very quiet would easy pass a db test at the track.

If i Knew i'd never have any trouble off the plod i'd have the team ice on all the time as the noise is addictive. The nur spec r is very nice but i can see the plod on a bad day having a problem with it and jetex you'd have no problem at all. so if you like it loud and you aint fussed about the plod you can't go wrong with the nur spec
