It was being discussed with the shadow health minister on R5 live yesterday morning. along with teaching children of that age about sexual organs, habits and activities including male and female masturbation as part of a programme to teach children about sex and awareness that is currently being implemented

Seems inappropriate to teach to children of that age, best left until they are older, 10-11 y/i guess would be about right. Let kids have their childhood without being rushed into things they do not need to know and is hardly relevant to them at that age.

Having two children, on nearly 9 and the other 6 i do not feel this is what they need to know. It is not something they have an interest in other than casual interest in where babies come from. They still believe in father Christmas, the tooth fairy and love children's stories ok the older on is getting curious about father Christmas and the tooth fairy and in a year or two may be the right time to tell her - if she asks or the right moment presents itself rather than forcing it on them before then are ready to deal with it and understand it.

I would be very surprises if anyone who has young children or works with them thinks it appropriate to teach this to kids as young as 6, kids mature mentally and physically at different rates, treat the kids as individuals with subjects as sensitive and important as this.

just pre-pubescent age is young enough so they cn have a mild understnding of potentil changes in there bodies and feelings, down to the increase of the terrible steroid testosterone lol.

Six is a bit too young, by ten I reckon most will have an idea of how things work from telly, even at eight I remember being pretty well understandign most of what my parents said when it was being said euphemistically so I couldnt understand what they were on about, dont underestimate them, they are like sponges at that age, they get a lot wrong but they also have put a lot into place.

I would rather someone explained that some men like other men and not ladies rahter than them watch Eastenders, people seem ok with kids watching that horrible programme but not some basic facts, they dont need to go into **** sex and all that, just need to prepare them for situations where they need to understand what is going on, why uncle Len has a "friend" or why Auntie Leslie (not our Les by the way) has short hair, Doc Marten's and smokes a pipe

I dont get the need to moan about Gays, they arent going to stop and it isnt "against nature", even if it is they still wont stop, flying in pressurised tubes 30,000 ft up isnt natrual but we all do it, just do what you like, dont worry about hat someone is doing somewhere else, if they like **** as much as I like the alternative then thats all well and good with me, ok scremaingly camp is a bit annoying but so are many other things that people do.
