Question

Just a quick question, what's the power run duration at PE ?
Is it more or less than the typical 30 seconds ? How do the 300+ bhp cars compare on power to PS figures ?

thanks

Andy

Not very well I'm afraid - but theres not many that want to check their car out there...

If you've got a fast car the power should show at PS...

30 second run..... - the one I had at PS was well over a minute. The Temps on the front mount started at 16c and to my shock went all the way to 43c as the revs were edged up slowly.

I was pleased with the power, the highest I've ever had there at 330bhp, and they did some great suspensionn work with Camber bolts to give me soem sound handling.... and a quick clutch change...

Steve Mc,

If you paid me to use anything else I would say NO!

The stuff is almost good enough to drink;-) It just loves advance, I could of given it much more but hey I like the way my rods are working just as they are.

Guru PAT says 310 is the limit dont push anymore, so that's how it stays I cant even get the headers I really wanted CRAP!

See yeah

Oh dear - 310 is the limit is it? - thats what PS said for quite some time I reckon, will need to change their estimates now..

I feel my car is fairly safely mapped, well at least compared to when it was first mapped a couple of years ago when I was running at 1.7 bar of boost!

Steve,

Moe is refering to torque, not bhp.

Also, I've been told that PS have recently changed something with their RR. So it will be interesting to see how other cars compare, after the changes. 330bhp on the PS RR is by far the highest yet, though.

Mark.

With the changes made to Star's setup, the turbo cars have a shorter duration now which is good for heat buildup which Steve's on about.
Having said that, the figures achieved by the cars last year are higher than what they are now but seem to be more in line with what is to be expected for the mods that are done to them.

What "at wheels" figures were you all getting? and what gear was your car run in?

Steve/Moe,

with NF and WI my top end advance can easily be 28deg or more - however over about 25deg it doesn't get me more power - well not yet anyway.

Also each car will vary - although without WI/NF 21-23 seems to eb the max on a lot of cars running Optimax.

Debate is whether I have gone beyond MBT and that 346 is all I will ever get with the current configuration. May go for monster turbo

Trout,

To be honest, "technical" contributions were really only expected from those people who have dyno printouts showing 347bhp +, but as you're an "Honorary" tuner, I guess it's ok

Just 1bhp more, and you'd have been there for real

And Mo, if you're going to use 347bhp, Alan's using his 363bhp run.....

DARREN - Thanks for a brilliant Day... See below about my problem for those that know...

INTERCOOLER !!!

Get on the rollers Saturday - Nice Guys at PE say...

"Oi - Your Intercooler is fecked..."

I become a little gutted, It would seem that all the fin's on my intercooler had been pushed flat - I got onto the dealer who shall remain nameless and advise of the situation and the advise I had been given.

Dealers responce was the usual - Let me look into it and I will get back to you....

Got a phone call later that day to advise me that a new unit was on order and that they would try and get it on warrenty but if not then they would pay for it....

Now is'nt an intercooler like £400 or summink like that ????

That was sure nice of the dealer to offer to do that wasen't it ???

Chaps,

I haven't been able to get hold of Darren and I have a selection of Delta Dash traces to dish out.....

So if you want yours, mail me your car details and the time (need to be as accurate as possible please as I don't know which trace is who's....)

Question

One other thing chaps, does anybody have the URL of the original thread with the running order as I have a gap in the files (Steve's laptop broke) and I need to try and tie up that with the files that I *do* have.....

Cheers,

Matt
