you need to do co-op to unlock items for the multiplayer game so worth doing.

 

Having a nightmare connecting to games on the PC version now, its went from pre patch sketchy, to post patch horrendous.

I`m not sure wtf was in that new updated download, but its crap, and it would seam that a huge amount of people on the battlelog forums think the same.

I think i have about 3 hours max playtime so far

I REALLY detest this Origin/Battlelog bull****, its ****ing ****., totally soured my BF3 experience now.

 

Gutted Micky. Its working a dream on PS3 since the server side patch. Cant remember last time I had any lag.

Taking ages to unlock anything though

 

Starts to get easier as you go along. Some of the big ribbons / awards are like 10-20k each which means you can rank up almost every other game.

 

Not having issues getting on PC games myself?!

Issues I'm having are trying to spend more than 2 secs in a jet before someone with IR Flares and missiles kills you as you only have cannon, so before you have any time to unlock jack.

 

Try and find enemy airfield and take out their chopper and planes as that gets you easy jet points for vehicle destroy. Also try spotting enemy vehicles & troops as if someone on your team takes them out you get some points also.

 

I'm absolutely hating the battlelog browser stuff. I want all that **** in the game not in windows. Very very hit and miss (pun ) as to whether anyone in your party can join a server, usually it just says 'waiting for host to connect'.
Also, and this really gets on my chuff, there's no manual, so unless you've played all through the single player game, or played an earlier version of Battlefield you really wouldn't have a clue as to what to do (things like spotting enemies etc).

Having said all that, I fecking love it

 

Really - some additional ones? Tbh I will be some time doing the standard MP ones at this rate lol.

 

Only thing I consistently struggle with is close quarters combat. Whenever I run into someone else my aiming goes haywire whilst everyone else seems to be able to shoulder their weapon in 1ms and double tap me in the head

 

Mine on the otherhand has sucked the rubber banding is fecking me off and has caused a few loses when I'm trying to defuse the MCOM.

As you get further into the game with weapons I've found that unlocking the uprgrades gets quicker.

 

same here - fire several rounds at some one running across my front, he turns, fires and i'm dead -- hows that ?!?

The mrs is off down to Somerset with work this afternoon and Im finishing at 2 and have tomorrow off. Should be able to clear a few more ranks in that time

Tried to join a few games with Darcy yesterday but everytime it says server full even though when I invite him there is only 11 on one side and that never changes. Annoying.

 

what i have found is best mate

is to both leave the games and then invite in to the squad and then join a game together it then finds a game with enough slots

i should be on tonight about 6

It seems your stats get saved if you quit mid game as long as you die. Ive read a few people saying they went on a run without dying and then quite only to lose unlocks they'd gained.

 

trying to get a few games today as i'm off to london for a couple of days, and virgin are doing maintenance

how can i rank up on the jets? seems impossible

Works for me as keeps you away from the main contact areas. Ive unlocked the flares, heatseekers, stealth and uprated cannons. Once youve done flares it gets easier to stay alive rather than having to evade every tom, dick & harry with a stinger.

I had mucho fun yesterday as an engineer with my stinger working with a pilot. He was chasing the enemy jets who heard a lock on and deployed flares only for me to wait and then launch my stinger. Worked every time although the lock on range of the stinger is annoyingly short.

 

The controls in the Jets are bloody awkward, no way i'll get used to them at the same time as trying to get used to Ace Combat

 

I changed my directional to inverted as the standard setup is push down nose up which I can never get used to.

 

Jets are hard to control with the mouse, but helis are ok, might have a plug in a joystick for the jets!

 

Yep there are additional unlocks by playing co-op that you can only use in MP by doing the co-op missions - bit weird but there you go!

 

I'm on the xbox so mouse aint the problem, bad enough with a controller

 

Man some players really just get on my ****. They either sit with a sniper trying in Conquest nowhere near a flag or they run around as support and never drop ammo even when you ask for it.

Talking of snipers some chap on Battelog Forums (which seems to be full of spotty teenagers) apparently has 755m longest headshot. I just did one at what I thought was long range lol and only got 308m. Not even sure I could see the enemy at 755m. Prob another booster with his mate on the other team.

 

He probably unlocked the ballistic scope which is x12, the standard scopes are only x7/x8.

 

Trust me that doesn't make it any easier. My 308m headshot was with the SV98 with 12x ballistic scope and using the bipod. Have a go and you will see what I mean.

 

I still couldnt complete a headshot at 20m, let alone 308m. Im bloody rubbish! Great game though.

 

Yep i found changing mine to alternate (iirc) makes it a bit easier,I'm bloody useless at dogfighting but strafing ground target is getting easier

 

I have come to the conclusion that Conquest on Metro is pointless. At least if you team starts downstairs its almost impossible to make your way upstairs for the 2nd flag unless the enemy are complete muppets.
