This will take some getting used to. Maps are massive compared to MW. Im struggling to find anyone whilst others boot around in jets & copters

 

There's definately a lot of hours and fun spent to be playing this over winter, I'm leaving for offshore now and I'm gutted to be missing this so soon after realease.

 

What are the jets and copters like to fly? Quite tricky or... ?

Thought they would have everything like that on the rigs. Buy it for the PS3 and take that out there? Or will you not have enough free time?

 

Just realised it's Paul (G7 PRS) that I used to play online with on PS3 and not you. Lol Got the two of you mixed up.

A console has to be the way to go out there?

 

Planes and choppers are alot easier to fly than on the last game Bad Company, In the three hours of play I've had I've mastered hovering above an enemy flag and capturing it.

The internet connections offshore really suck TBH, theres no way I could play out there not multiplayer anyway.

By time I get back most players will be leveled up to God knows what

 

Still waiting for Amazon to dispatch my BF3...
Ordered days ago, still not a jot.
Tried to cancel the order this morning, but got an e-mail back saying it was not possible. Amazon are usually really good too. Not by far the cheapest either and I paid £7 for next day delivery to make sure it came on launch day.

I feel a trip to the local shop coming on and will just tell amazon to go and twirl.

 

I cant be arsed with the waiting game of ordering online if I want to play it on release. Never guaranteed. Id buy it locally and return amazon copy.

 

**** me got mine about 1130 off Amazon also,had 1st class delivery..If you look on your email from amazon it should tell you who the courier is,if the depot is not far maybe you could take a trip and collect it..

 

Already done. Nipped to my loacl HMV, they had a huuuge stack of BF3 boxes at the counter. Was rude not too.

Already cancelled my amazon order this morn but would not let me, so I will just return it - or e-bay it I guess. No idea what they are messing about at, but like I said they are usually quite good.

**** me I suck in the planes. A chap just dominated in the A10. I was on opposing side as engineer and fired 6 AA rockets at him and each time he used the chaffs. Only way to take em down is in another aircraft.

 

hehe i got in an apache and as usuall flew straight into the ground, Im not ment to fly.

 

Got my copy this afternoon at a little tescos i go near at work, will hopefully get a few hours later if the other half isn't watching anything on the box.

 

Got to get on this later tonight.

 

I must admit Im still struggling. Was holding my own and then some on the beta but in this I just cant seem to hit anything = full clip to kill someone if I am lucky. Grrr.

playing the campaign mode to get familiar with the controls etc.Notice first bug is the train when hanging onto the carriage after the guy shoots at you through the glass.You need to keep pressing the A button real fast until you climb on the roof.Seems obvious when the A flashes on the screen,but if you don't keep pressing fast enough you just keep falling and die..

 

I'm struggling as well !! more deaths than kills at first - improved this PM

there is some interesting stuff in the game - saw a little four wheeled 'thingy' trundling down the road towards me, decided to have a closer look, just as I realised it had a shotgun mounted on it - It SHOT me : I'm DEAD !!!!!!

 

I wouldn't say thats a bug, seemed pretty obvious to me, I did it first time of asking.
Only propblems i've had is getting on a server in MP. once on thoguh it's awsome, those servers will get bad this weekend, then robably get better when people realise it's not COD and stop playing it and let the rest of us get on with it

 

Haven't tried MP yet,from the sound of it i'll keep on campaign for tonight then,let MP ease off a bit.Enjoying it enough anyhow,i'm just starting the going hunting mission.

 

PC version was delivered today, for some reason it runs better for me when i put all the gfx options as high as they will go (1024x768 screen res though, i run two of these)

Cant complain, it looks amazing in the single player, not really tried the MP yet.

Really impressed so far, but i DETEST, this fooking Origin/Battlelog bull**** the PC version has.

 

I am just getting into bf3. never played the previous games in the series so am getting slaughtered at the minute . Team work seems to be a dirty word on the xbox version. My so called team mates just camp while I try and capture the objective.

 

Been installing my PC version for the last hour!
Luckily I have Forza 4 to keep me occupied...

I'm still waiting for my pre-order of the Star Wars box set on Blu Ray, from Play though. I ended up going out to the shop and buying it again.. online shopping

 

Well I absolutely loved BF2, and BF:2142 etc. Whether I'm getting too old and my reactions are slowing, or the maps are smaller so more intense but the only time I stay alive longer than 2 minutes is if I've spawned on the opposite side of the map to where the action is
When I started with BF2 you had a chance to get your bearings before finding some action where as (and more realistically I guess) in BF3 you don't get a chance.
Amazed at the graphics and even more amazed it seems to run ok on my 5750!

Hate Origin and the Battlelog rubbish though, I want to launch the game and go to a menu IN GAME rather than launch it from a web browser!

 

I will say the realism especially the sound effects are far superior to MW (2 at least). Really very impressive how immersed you feel in a firefight.

 

Probably got some hacker with aimbot etc on your ***. its a valid excuse for getting killed quickly
