LMAO at this thread! I have been arguing with the misses as to when we will put it on. She also suffers with Ranauds (spelling) in her hands. Just let her read this thread and it made her chuckle that we are all tight ar$es!
Her comment after reading it. "on that note I'm going to get a jumper!" LOL
I will wait till there is snow on the ground!

Central heating challenge at our house. With the start of October in the bad, we are now aiming for November.
How times change. People used to post up photo's of their speedo to show how fast they had gone; these days, people are posting up MPG figures instead.

Our first storage heater was charged up last night in the kitchen, looked like we had no chance of drying the load of washing i did, we will just leave the kitchen door open for now to allow the heat to travel into the living room.
The past few days i have been layering up with an extra jumper as it has started to get a lot colder round this way.
Jumpers are made to keep people warm, but a lot of people don't want to wear them when its cold, madness!

We've got a Rayburn in the Kitchen, so we always have a warm kitchen in the winter and a sauna in the summer, and so much hot water that we have to turn the hot tap on for about 10 mins twice a day to run some of it off or else it boils in the massive hot water tank we had installed. We also have our own spring water.
Multi-fuel stove in the lounge too - with endless logs from trees in the garden getting trimmed every couple of years - so if we have a power cut in the winter we just fire-up the stove, open all the doors in the house, and the whole house gets heated by the stove and the Rayburn.

Me and the dog are sat in the lounge right now watching telly with the french windows wide open
If MrsD were here though (she's away until tomorrow), I'm sure the heating would have been on tonight

Nope, do need to bleed it / re-fill it in readiness though & get the boiler serviced.
Had a small burn on the wood burner on Saturday evening, very nice, had a power cut during X-Factor too so the place was only lit by the flames.
Heating probably won't go on properly until November.

We had to turn ours on. Getting up for work at 6am is bloody freezing. It's fine the rest of the time though.
Had it set on 19°C for a while before cranking it up towards 22°C.
