There was an infracation button against your name, if peeps pressed it you were infracted ... 3 or more = a ban. Super frustrating as "cliques" could gang up on members & get them banned!

k - but could you not just re logon as hodgy0_3 etc etc, ad infinitum

or was it by IP address (surely not)

was it a purely automated system then?

sound like an old skool DOOM 2 frag fest

I don't like the infraction system as I never infracted someone and it was because I was too slow. Not enough power for my liking.

I once got infracted for something my husband wrote when I was logged in. Very annoyed about that

I liked the rep system. It never really got the chance to get going, unfortunately. I was up to my third green blob - one of an elite few - when the management turned it off. I go on another forum where a few users have maxed out their reputation with about twenty green blobs and they have the power to "neg rep" irritating users back to the stone age. I'm up to ten million-odd reputation power already. Hours of innocent fun!

Pretty much. I didn't like it at all really, although some of the threads that came up because of them were quite funny.

People think policy can be busy now, it was in a different league back then.

The mods used to keep an eye on it although PSL did keep logging on as numerous versions of PSL it was same as now - once banned you can create a new username "banned[oldusername]" & post in Policy to get it overturned. Mods were checking for banned users coming back online with an alter ego ...

Was simply automated like that yes.

I got banned a couple of times, 10days or 14 I think. PSL got hammered as you'd expect & eventually didn't come back for a while (6-12mnths from memory). He did grizzle about being targetted though

It was funny when that glitch happened and we could see who infracted us.

Was a total PITA and caused more trouble than enough TBH, mind you the 'old regime' had a heavy hand in alot of it.

I voted yes as it would be fun to see how the current NSR regulars dealt with it

Might actually liven the place up

I don't think I infracted anyone back in the day, I'm sure a Mod could tell me

But by Jesus, some of you ***** I would love to infract these days!

Did you vote for the Third option

The thumbs up thumbs down was good,as for the infractions,i never really seen the point to it.Some members abused it to get back at another member.

Think I infracted 2 people. Don't think they're on here any more, must have got the message!

Got infracted once, then the chap PM'd me and apologised, saying he meant to infract the guy that posted before me!

Anyway - another go at it? Nah!

It was a seriously bad system and led to many unpleasant happenings.
