I have a Denso one fitted to mine that looks the same based upon the part numbers. I paid nearer the Import Car Parts price though. Denso is the factory spec equipment only difference is you can get it with a subaru parts label for a lot more cash
Ricky, you cannot turn off the precat sensor even running a decat as this is how you measure the stoich point whilst running off boost. The second lambda sensor is a check sensor so can be disabled as this may throw a fault code if you run a decat.

There's a small panel on the drivers side arch liner that you remove for easier access as it is usually in the headers rather than the downpipe on a bug, unless it's been moved and rescaled when the exhaust was fitted

Thanks for the "how to" guide guys it sounds more awkward than difficult. I didn't get around to ordering it today so will sort it tomorrow for a Saturday delivery. Fingers crossed the weather stays dry.

I have just read a how to guide with pics and it is pretty tight down there so you are right about the adjustable not fitting. It also said that a 22mm spanner is needed to remove it.

It will eventually once the fault has gone away - on vauxhalls you have to restart the car three times. It would probably be better to reset it with a reader if you can get access to one again.

The first is used as a part of the closed loop with the MAF to regulate the fuel mixture off boost to keep the ratio at the stoich level (14.7:1 - air:fuel). Without this car can run lean or rich.
The second sensor is a check sensor to confirm the emissions coming out of the CAT and will identify if the CAT is on it's way out. For cars with a decat any codes relating to the second sensor can be disabled

Jon, in theory then, as I have a decat I can have the check sensor o/p disabled with no effect? Also, and more importantly, as i have the PSI3 now, should I see AFR at idle as you have indicated above, 14.7:1? Would any wildly lower or higher figure indicate the sensor at the headers is on its way to the bin?

On the PSI3 you should see a lambda reading of 0.97-1 at idle (and arguably whilst driving off-boost) but nothing much beyond that - those figures also represent the tolerance required for an MOT pass. The readings will be very different from those under either boost conditions (it will run richer) or whilst engine breaking (it will run lean).

That is quite normal as running lean is more dangerous that running rich because of the likelihood of det, limp mode will add a 'touch' more fuel as a safety measure to avoid det.
