Hi, the clutch was fitted by a garage in Northampton, I sourced the clutch and left him with the car for a day and a half got it back tuesday, feels a lot better. What I was told about it coming from Belgium, it is a uk car only registered in this country, as I understand it they just sourced extra vehicles from there to help demand. As for damage there's this bit I mentioned on the front bumper, it's a small hole just above the fog lamp, there is a crack in one of the front fogs and it also has the airbag light on, but for a 2003 the paintwork looks great, the wheels have aged very well, the tyres are all good one had a puncture so it's had a new one three months ago. The interior is clean, original stereo has been replaced, but I don't listen to music when I drive it anyway, it plays it's own tune. Hope this helps*

Steve

No he is a liar. he know dam well its a wrx.
He must tax and insure the thing, also note in the reply he makes no mention of the 5 speed box.

Would he not find out when he sourced the clutch too?? Is the clutch on an STI different from a WRX one? if so, what did he ask for??

I've had a few replies from him also. He bought it as an sti & has no reason to think otherwise.

I've had another reply.

Hi matt, the car has a 5 speed box, it has some stamps but it's not full history, I will check the service book tomorrow when I get home from work and will email you with what history it has. Steve

Come and have a look at it see what you think. I bought it in good faith it has STI badges all over it, I know no different and I have insured it as an STI and sent pictures of it to the insurance company

Now answer this.
i have just looked at the car on the laptop and it has a wrx front bumper and wheels,no front bumper side spats or sti foglight covers,no brembo brakes, has wrx wheels,no twisted side skirts,no sti steering wheel or blue sti interior.
the engine should have a red top with sti larger intercooler and an ic water spray button on the interior.
also ALL sti have six speed box.
how do you explain all these parts missing?

Ok, here's how to do it, pretend you're a girl...

Me (jayne)

Hi Steve

I'm looking to buy one of these cars and you're local to me too which is handy.

Only trouble is I'm after a WRX non sti model as the insurance is too dear on the sti.

I saw your advert and your car is a WRX obviously, but you say STI in the title? *I see it's got an sti badge but no sti engine, intercooler, interior, 6 speed box etc so clearly the wrx. *I just wanted to email and first ask if I can view it and secondly ask why you've put sti? I've done my research on these cars as I don't want to be caught out but I showed my friend the advert and he said "but it says sti" I tried to explain what an sti was (he's not good with cars) but he wanted me to email and confirm the details before I view.

I told him you've prob just put it in the title to get attention like people do on ebay?

I hope you're not paying sti insurance for it, hehe (sure you're not)

Ayway, thanks

Jayne x

Hi Jayne thanks for your email, your bang on it is on the log book as a wrx, but as you rightly point out the add shows it as an sti to get noticed, it has had the badges and bigger spoiler etc added, but it is a wrx. I never added the bits that's how I got it, I only pay £666 fully comp and I'm 28 so I thought that was reasonable. The car looks way better than a normal wrx, and is a real head turner. You will notice as well it's cheaper than the other "sti's" on piston heads, the car goes great, it sounds beautiful and it's been a pleasure to own, minus replacing the clutch this week lol. My mobile is 07703696750 hope that helps. Steve

Nice work

This guy is a ****, he told me, in several emails, that as far as he was concerned it is an STi.

He must think he is on to a quick sale, what with all the interest his advert is getting.

you have to ask yourself what sort of idiot tries to pass a wrx off as an sti.
surely when you try to insure it or hpi check it it will come back as a wrx,
not to mention the obvious missing sti parts.
then worse ask people to waste their time an come and view it.
if i was serious and travelled to see the car after having several emails saying it is definitely an sti, i would be inclined to punch him square on the nose for wasting my time and fuel and being a complete lying *******.

also like the part in jaynes reply that says "You will notice as well it's cheaper than the other "sti's" on piston heads"
maybe the reason is its a wrx you *****! and a dam expensive one at that!
