No different to buying a car from any other form of advertised material really.

If your local, you go and view etc as you would from any ad,if your from far away, ask for all the pictures you can think of,place your bid, when you arrive, test drive etc before parting with cash.

I bought my WRX 6 yrs ago from an ad on ebay, still own it now

But that's not how ebay works - you bid to buy, unless it's not as described! It's not dependent on a test drive.

I suppose that since they changed the rules so you're not allowed to give buyers negative feedback, this practice has become more common.

Ive bought a few "runabouts" on ebay also and have always had a test drive before parting with cash, never had any quibbles and the seller has always suggested the test drive before me.

If i were to sell a car,id offer the test drive also,i just see ebay as an advertising method, dont really hold it to its full t&c`s etc

tubby you emailed this guy i actually went one further and rang him and he was a pakistani from the sounds of things he advised me that he took the car in for a service and the guys drove it and advised him it must be pushing between 380-410bhp???

i advised him on standard injectors and that intercooler that was "impossible" he advied me well it feels faster than others hes owned and his mate has a 350bhp evo and he smoked that??????

i asked "so that makes it 410bhp???

answer" well it must be near that"

i asked "can you send me proof of bhp claims and reciepts"

and like you im still waiting

people like this deserve banning from ebay trying to robb people and con them into buying this ****e

the lorrys at work are 480 bhp and my car is much faster! does that mean im pushing 500 bhp.
pakistani logic says so.
unlike the sti my backside thread where his ad pistonheads was a blatant lie,
i just clicked report advert on that and pasted a link to the thread and pistonheads removed it.
he isnt claiming anything as hes obviously learnt from his ebay lies.
he will bull**** you when you phone up, sad thing is someone will believe him.

Default lies

i spoke to the other guy whos got it kno he claimed the guy was totally full of ****..

claims he done all the work himself when the previous owner did it.
he says hes not selling it but has listed to see what he gets offered??

asked well if your not selling it why list it

hes only had it a week yet hes put it up for sale so in other words hes bought it and relised it a fooking heap of ****e now hes trying to cart it off onto some other poor unsuspecting person

he claims theres a lot of reciepts but no bhp figure or half the bull**** he had on his ebay auction what a suprise

tbh his missus spent nearly the whole conversation telling him what to say in the background it got to the point i asked him to tell her to be quiet thats all i could hear is her naggin voice

so weve gone from 1 conman to another, the last time it was taxed was over 2 year ago and hasnt been on the road since so either hes been using it illegally or again is full of bullsh*t
