Yep, mine are like Budgie's kids in the holidays, like the bloody lost boys, only appear at night.

Yes, kids are a pain in the ****, they wreck stuff but I think I would be bored and listless otherwise.

You women moan like b1tches when you are pregnant, oh it is to hot, oh it is to cold, my clothes don't fit, I am so uncomfortable, I am so fat and unatractive, the baby is kicking, I need a pee, blah blah blah

So again WHY DO YOU DO IT time and time again?
Until you have children of your own (assuming you're not a parent - I feel sorry for your kids if you are), you can't really answer that question. A few on the new parents on here (like myself) will know exactly what I mean

When I became a dad my mates were saying, "oh your life is over now, mate" but in fact its the opposite. Once you have had kids you realise it is the start of your life. It gives you real meaning and purpose that people without kids just cannot understand.

Yeah, they **** and puke everywhere but for some unexplainable reason you don't mind sorting them out cos you love them.

Pre kids - lots of cash, clean house, out most weekends, expensive cars, sleep was plentyful.

Post kids - no cash, house is a mess, going to the shops is a outing, I drive a £500 saab 9000, sleep is rare.

Would I change anything ? God no ! :-) The moment they say `Daddy` or `I love you Daddy` is priceless and melts your heart. When I get home, my son rushes t othe door shouting `Daddy..........` and hugs me .............. best hug ever :-)

As for 5hitty naps, yep Ive done a few for the first child, but I let the Mrs do the second one.

well ours is two in Sept. and funnily enough just been to see the midwife this am.

no 2 child due on (wait for it- 1st April 2012).

yep turned our lives upside down. its hard work, but worth it. glad I was a bit older and have got loads of stuff out of the way: trips/fancy holidays/adventures/silly cars etc, so I can take life a bit easier at moment.

I think it would be hard, being young, skint and being torn to go out, wanting to do loads of stuff. for example, in my 20's drank like a fool every weekend. now, couldn't really care less, which when you have to get up at 6.30, is the deal really.

we did do the "controlled crying thing" when our dtr was 5 mths old and went into her own room. hard work, but you have to do it.

she sleeps through, every night from 7pm to 6 ish am. at 7pm you suddenly get yr life and yr house back to normal !!

I do realise with sprog no 2 , its going to extremely hard work suddenly.

Can't understand why people want kids, let alone multiples of them. Other peoples kids are aweful but the best part is you can give them back, then they become some one elses problem.

Why would you want a noisey, expensive wrecking machine in the house you have worked hard to build up.

Each to their own but no thanks you can keep them.

On the other hand, if you don't have children you would probably have enough money to hire someone more interesting to look after you ...

I would love to have my own kids, but realistically, that's highly unlikely to happen. It kills me when friends and family announce that they're pregnant and I admit that, selfishly, I do have a little cry. BUT, I have the most wonderful stepdaughter and we're so close. I do spoil my friends/families kids rotten......but hell, I'd still kill to have my own. Enjoy your kids guys!!

We took the opinion right from e start that whatever we ended up with be it a boy or girl they would be included in everything we do, so i dont miss out on going to places, car shows santa pod etc etc, my missus doesnt iss out on her social life, and if there is ever anything that really isnt suitable like a social event ( **** up ) he stays with his nan, but in all honesty the only thing that we have curbed is the social event side of things but it never really bothered us anyway, there is also another plus to this, they get used to being taken here there and everywhere, they get the experience at a very young age of loud, fast cars, and my son is already a gearhead when it comes to cars, my scoob is a second car at the moment, but i cant get in it without him, he loves it, that can only be a good thing, the trick is all in the planning to make sue you have everything you need whilst out and about and stuff to keep them amused if they do get a bit bored now and again!!

Wouldnt change things for the world!!

Like I said you won't understand because you're not a parent. I was of a similar opinion to yourself not too long ago (27 now), and in fairness I'm not bothered about others kids in that sense. But when my son was born it all made sense. You have a dependant but in the best way. I won't preach about the good, bad or the ugly but buy having the opinion you are, you can't understand what parents do.

But fair play, you don't want kids for whatever reason and that's your right of decision. But you won't understand the reasoning parents (or at least good parents) do.

eh belive it or not, your ONLY purpose for being alive is to carry on the speices and in particular your gene sequence.

thats it.

the reason people do it and love it is instinctual.

not saying evryone has to have kids, but its increadibly easy to understand why some people do

and at same time its easy to understand why others dont.

If you really wanted to do your bit you could foster or adopt.

Messy house, hand prints, toys everywhere including bath, milk and juice marks on hard floors, cushions never on sofa, washing machine on every day, going to bed at 10pm.

Wouldn't change it.

admittadley, my attitude did change when my own came alone,

i always didnt mind kids, occassionally interacting with them - but tolerance goes right up after youve had your own - yeah some are real sh*ts sometimes

but i honestly look on children now as just small people, (no jokes please) but they will grow into adults and can become interesting, nice people that you can learn from, help, ect ect ect.

if you take no interest or have bad attitudes - most will grow up thinking your a total kn*b. maybe not important to you now, but maybe later in life it could be.

my daughter is 3 and my second child is due in 3 weeks time.
if somebody had said to me 10 years ago that by the time i was 37 i would be married and have 2 baby daughters i would have told em to get f*%&ed. the fact i have all this and still drive an impreza makes me proud to be a dad and i would not change anything. your priorities change overnight as soon as u hold that little child in your arms as soon as they are born.
and she is a petrol head and loves daddies "noisey car"

I feel very sorry for people who say they don't want children, especially the women. This is because no matter how firmly they think that now, something does kick in and will make them want them at a later stage. If you've left it too late, it can be heartbreaking.

As my husband said, (I am allowed to agree with him ), adoption is one way to sort the population crisis. Give a child a home who alternatively would have a thoroughly **** life. Our little treasure would never have been given the opportunities we could give him if he'd stayed with his birth mum. He is amazing. He has changed our lives for the better beyond explanation. I have a daughter who is 12 and I must say I do not feel differently about him because he is adopted. I feel truly lucky, even though I didn't give birth to him, or even know him for the first 18 months of his life, it's about the next X years when we will know him.

18 months in and my life has totally changed and I wouldn't change it back again for the world.

It's an old cliche when people say "if you don't have kids of your own, you won't understand" and I thought it was a load of bo!!ocks......until my daughter came along and it totally changed my outlook on life in so many ways.
