Recently bought a 2011 WRX STI Saloon in Silver. Its my second Impreza STI, my first being a WR1 and after a few years I had to get back in one.

I'll get some pics up ASAP, but I'm just wondering what the service intervals are? I have had a range of answers.

Cheers

Obvious place to look would be your service book, assuming the car was supplied with it.

Official service schedule here

Note the cam belt comes between services so easy to miss. Who knows why Subaru do this.

They do look nice, always liked gold on a wr blue impreza, but they suit it. Those wheels on this thread further up on adamobie looks smart. Lot of money but set them off.

Anyone know where to go about getting a strengthened bootlid for a rear wing? Is it dealer only?

I've enjoyed the spoiler less look and the fact the car is more anonymous when parked but I do think it's slightly lacking presence without the wing.

Very nice, why do you have a wrx badge on the back though and not the STI one?

As has been mentioned in other places the bootlid itself is the same, but comes with the holes for the spoiler pre-punched.

The "strengthened" parts are the bootlid torsion bars as the OEM spoiler is very heavy.

That's the reason why Subaru UK will only supply the kit, no holes to drill in the bootlid, stronger torsion bars plus the spoiler. They will also need painting.

Alternatives are HT Auto's version and the Seibon carbon one, both of which are light enough to not require stronger torsion bars but you will have to drill your own holes to suit.

I had no idea. What do Subaru charge for all this? And do you lose out in any way by having the HT Autos item?

Edit: Not sure the HT one is as nice a shape. Also, would it not still flex the lid at speed?

I believe the lid/spoiler/torsion bars package is about £1500 plus painting costs.

The lid itself is strong enough to cope with any downforce generated.

The lid is also designed to accept the low level "WRX" style spoiler.

just a matter of drilling the holes in the right place

Ah right ok, cheers for that. The dealer we bought the car from told us that the flex was definitely a problem, hence my asking.

I guess he was wrong!

I've been looking at the small spoilers but it seems a bit half hearted in a way...
