Lion OS X is here ....
I've got to wait until Apple sort out the Pro-Audio apps, and the 3rd party companies sort out their hardware drivers.
Not going to jump just yet (there's no support for some of my 32-bit plugins for Logic
)
No doubt I will, but not yet.
Glad it's looking good though

I have to say the gesture stuff (I'm using a Macbook pro) is really good. Even things that cannot be properly full-screen (like VMWare Fusion) you can put on its own desktop and then swipe into view from a full screen app.
Crashed it
Updated like a mad man then ran applications full screen until it burst. Just a spinning beach ball now. Fingers crossed it recovers as I'm 10gig into a 15gig back up.
It recovered and cracked on.

I'd spend a bit more time with the scrolling, I'm used to it now even with one machine different to the other and it is more natural, we've just been trained the wrong way. Try scrolling sideways, see which you prefer there.
Thanks for the calendar tip jsh1, nice!

Noticed all sites with Flash adverts were taking an age to load. Click to Flash had been removed from Safari during the update. It's now available as an extension from the Safari menu.
Back up to speed now, no pauses waiting for adverts to load.

Have you used the latest version of Safari on Lion? It's exceptional, especially once you disable Flash. More and more people are leaving Firepox every day, it's dying, Chrome killed it.
Download smooth, installation smooth.......................boots like a dog, and runs a little slower now
(Mac Book Pro) which is a shame as that was one of the Mac's advantages over M$ products.
Loving the 'LaunchPad' though, very nice for those users of iPhone and iPad for quick app launch, also the new sign on page is cool.
Need to look in the system monitor and see what is slowing things up, probably an app needs updating or removing as it's not happy running on Lion.

My Macbook is getting faster all the time, indexing was the big killer. Battery life is an hour down right now and I can hear the fans running which is not normal for browser and mail usage. Pretty sure it'll settle down.
I'm more distressed that the Macbook Air is now as fast as my Macbook Pro. Oh to have been robbed six months later.

Smart tapping wins, even with the added screen space of usable full screen apps, I was always zooming in, it worked in Leopard, but a double two finger tap is a massive advance.
I'm wasn't getting Launchpad but now I've found out you can drag and drop icons make folders and delete what you want I can see that being faster than using Spotlight to launch apps.
Misson control is nothing new to me I don't think, I was a big Exposé user - press and hold the key for Accents
- anyhow and it just seems to tart that up a bit.
i'm all installed and indexed and backed up.
a nice improvement and value for money too
it's taken half and hour, but my brain is now switched over to the new trackpad scrolling.
not sure i'll use launchpad - I've got 24 gigs of ram so i can leave everything running.

i've enabled the 'natural mouse' touchpad see how it goes.
I have had a slight problem setting the wireless printer. the wife wanted something scanning and couldn't get it to find the printer
.
Saying that this is the first time i've had to use the printer or scanner for over a year

I'm hanging on before I update to lion, it all seems very good but I want to make sure the compatability is there with all third party software providers first. I recently did the latest software update on snow leopard and it totally messed up my raw imaging processing software out of the window, as a photographer for a living this was a pain in the ***! But it was only yesterday that the third party provider released a software update to remedy the problem. The software I use is Capture One pro 6, so hang on and don't update your OSX yet if you use capture one!

Why don't like Apple Flash?
Because will lost main advantage an this is Battery life and App store,as usual Steve Jobs claiming something different.
Lion is fine, but nothing special,i'm happy with Hackintosh Snow Leopard for music production,if Apple will support Maya,3DS Max etc,i will migrate too to the "genuine" Mac,until i'm on PC with Snow Leopard.

after 20 years of reliance on Micro$haft for an OS my switch over to a Linux derivative has been both smooth and simple. Like Apple's IOS everything just works. I started with a dual boot Win XP and Linux but after a few months i found i didn't need Windows for anything. One reformat and an Ubuntu intallation later I have cut my ties to Mr Gates for good.
