I was making my own... I bought a second hand downpipe of POC with the intention of this.. but have not bothered yet as this came along... may still make one and sell it off cheap to someone..
Edited to add that... not like ive got owt else to do?
Ive just rebuilt a 1.4cvh escort engine, and fitted a new clutch... head off.. block out.. degreased... thats back together and done.. fitted another downpipe for BuRR.. Now got a MK1 golf GTI 16v in the garage with fuel problems... got that going tonight for the first time in three years... fitting another d/pipe tomorrow and then finishing the golf before the weekend..
Thats aswell as working 9 - 5

David, i'm starting my own front mount project this weekend..
As you have had your car in pieces can you see any probs with routing the pipework without going through the wings etc etc.
As it stands i'm gonna try and move the radiator down about 2 inches and back as far as i can go, by the looks of your pics the rad/fans are gonna be almost touching the headers/block.......
What i'm gonna probably do is lag the headers to try and prevent excess heat getting to the rad...
Then i am gonna route the pipework across the engine (roughly speaking) and over the top of the rad to the i/c.
I have a gtir i/c which had the inlet/outlet ports at the top and bottom of the core, i have re-welded the bottom port onto the side of the end cap at the top so that both ports are basically at the top.
For my pipework i am using 2 1/2 in diameter stainless pipe (which isnt very heavy) which my work has bent for me, i am ordering samco's for the 90 degree bends and the connectors to the i/c turbo and inlet.
Now you have read my manuscript what are youre thoughts on my plan for this weekend????????
Cheers mate
Rob

If your moving radiator back and down like I did.. spin the fan and make sure it clears crank pulley, also pay close attention to the radiator hoses... I wish I had used thinner tubing now... i have just cut mine at 22.5degrees... would also weld a couple of bosses in so that you can put temperature senders in... also dont forget dump valve plumbing..
Mail me if you need anything..

You come down to leeds and give advice with this and Ill even buy the booze!...
Dont say that about spacers... I dont think I have a spare 29mm under the bonnet... my normal mistake would be to do the mods and then not be able to shut the bonnet...
Whats your air filter off?? did you make the heat shield for it...
Still considering that Tig... sent a few more mails...
What do you use to weld yours... or is it just big b@lls and DC??
Take a while for the 90degree then?
Can you mail me details on the td05h and better pics?? Im assuming you did it? Just wondered how you protected the bearings from **** or does the front casing come off??
David
Edited as I cant add when Im pissed.

These are the only shots I have of the mod The compressor housing comes off easily, if you have decent circlip pliers for the huge circlip which holds it on
Not having a lathe, I started with a hacksaw then used a dremmel type burr to open the inlet to suit 2" OD stainless pipe which is a rather handy 50mm bore It is a sliding fit into the modified intake and is secured by 3 x 6mm allen 'grub' screws through the original alloy casing.
The short 2" diameter stub can 'just' be seen in place in this pic
This then steps up to 3" OD stainless via a conical reducer. I didn't use the 3" bend in the pic, instead I used a 75mm bore Samco hose which also fitted the AFM nicely.

Going to Donnington was the best thing I have done in a while! its motivated me to pull my finger out... Was good to meet some of the people that have been giving me advice... Especially Pat, Mark (R19KET), Adam M, and Tim W.
Would just like to say before Mark says anything he's lying... I didnt say it!
Oh and Cheers for the ride Pat...

Pavlo,
your right about the wet kit adding fuel with Nos it does do this all by it's self. You just jet both N2o and fuel at the nozzle (as you would and old carb.)
The system comes with a relay to "arm" the system so that you can drive around at WOT without it activating.
There is also a micro switch for the throttle pedal which when the system is armed AND you WOT, in it all squirts (fuel and Nos).
What you don't want to be doing is using it at part throttle openings or low rpm situations, this causes det and endex for pistons (not enough rotational enertia for N2o to be able to accelerate piston down the bore, power has to go somewhere so it punches it's self through the crown) (or down the ringland in my case )
EDIT : (pedant mode) changed Nos to N20

I'm only up to speed with the degrees retard required on big V8's
I ran a two stage 150/250bhp NOS system on a high compression 500bhp 6.0Ltr V8. On that I used 2 degrees retard per 50 hp Nitrous
on pump fuel ,
1 degree/50bhp on race fuel.
The numbers for a 2.0 low compression turbo will be way different

It was good to meet up with you too David, and offer inspiration hope you liked the £7.69 oil breather kit (I just worked out the actual costs!) At least you now know that your not the only one doing these things on the cheap
And in the best tradition of all things bodgit getting the WI running at 9.30 the night before trackday wasn't possibly the wisest move on my part...although I did have the advantage of giving tuning guru (Tim now genuflects in the direction of Bushey) Mark a lift up to the track and got a remap on the way
