That car has been on ebay for MONTHS! I know this because I considered looking at it myself in April but then bought another with 100k on the clock, VF35, FMIC, FSH etc etc for the same money.

As said above, be very very careful, IMO theres better cars out there for the money.

Going back to the argument above, heres my 2p worth.

My friend bought a classic on a V plate for £1500 with fsh, 84k, minor mods etc but after 6 months it developed a knocking bottom end. He doesnt have the sort of money (like many others on here) to throw a thousand quid here and there at a rebuild so he bought a 2nd hand engine and swapped it (£500). Still going strong, job done. Owning an Impreza doesnt have to be expensive, or as expensive as people make out.

I didn't think the Turbo 2000 had 4 pots. You're right about the bumper and lights though.

Default hi guys

Just for me, can we please run this thread for a little longer.....
I haven't been on scoobynet for some time. I met some of your members in 2001 on a 'ring trip, (traded blows with a boxster at Adenauer, his fault, hence the id), and then bumped into the guys and girls at track days afterwards for ages, hence joining the site despite not being a subaru owner.
I'm finally looking at buying my first subaru, a turbo wagon as it suits all my needs, and have around £1500 to spend. Please (accurately) assume ignorance on my part and advise the do's and do nots.
I am, in advance, very grateful to you all.
Regards
Lee

Is 1500 quid your total spend or do you have money on the side for a full serivce (between 5 and 800 quid from a speciallist, which I would suggest you use if you have not done any work on a scoob before).

Price too £1900 is a lot for a 140k car
Also the arches are another worry on a classic at that age

Even I have bubbles on my 1 owner garaged ,pampered 59k classic which is polished every week and I will be facing a£500- £1000 bill to sort them out in the future
