It'd be criminal to spend all that time shaving the underside and not showing it off

Just thought of a few that obviously haven't seen this thread yet.
Jag, Bigarf, and Fai17 all have road legal newage cars that have ran confirmed 10 second 1/4 miles.
I believe Arfs was the fastest of the 3 with a 10.76 @ York, Jags was probably the greatest achievement running his 10 in a fully trimmed car with all the associated hardware, aircon, spare wheel, subs etc etc.

I'm not denigrating your achievement, it takes some going to get in to the tens and it's no mean feat. You deserve all the credit and congratulations you get. However to be shouting in every post is a bit much. I'm not putting your achievement down I hasten to add. Anyway I've got some stroking to do.

good lad. then you know how special a 10 second car is. how much time , effort, money, research and trail and error goes into one of these cars most people wouldn't believe.

too many wee lads (brought up on a diet of Fast and Furious) think that a car is not fat unless it is a "10 second" car. if they had even the remotest idea of what was needed (especially for a classic shape car) they would soil themselves. like yourself i have spent a small fortune on my car in its various guises. each version getting a little faster.

i have been trying for a number of years. but i have had a 5 year hiatus due to family commitments and not having as much money to spend on my car. my best is 11.2 @ 135. I had the power just not the driving skills. hopefully this new build i am having done will see me finally into the 10s.

congrats on having a special car. keep her between the hedges and if she stays together then you can only get faster.

It's the expense of running these cars continuously that stops them being daily drivers.

A "friend" has killed an Exedy twin plate, re-built it and seen it fail again, so he's had to upgrade, at a price. That price is that you wouldn't want to "waste" it's life going to Morrisons shopping anymore...
That doesn't mean that it isn't used a couple of times a week for recreation
But it does mean that it appears on a trailer to events too !

dunx

P.S. Even if my car had the power, I've no interest in drag racing at my age I measure my reaction times in minutes fourteen years and £75K on Subarus plus their mods so far !
