As an update I have tried two other phones which appear to work but seems bonkers I have to replace my relatively new phone with bluetooth!

It's a Sony W302. Where can I get the update from?

I have just come home to find a very fine scratch down the side of the car it is very light and presumably in the lacquer, can anyone recommend anything besides a machine polish?

Thanks

Ok phone first. Goto songs site and check support area also check software that came with phone to see if it has any auto update

As for scratch I'm no pro mate but from my view I'd go get some black tcut and slowly polish over it if it's just laq that's scratched it'll go

Guys on here may point to a better way though

Nice thread for someone like me looking at an MY11 STi for next car. To save me reading back through 14 pages again is there a warranty issue with changing the backbox if not an IM approved part or is that in reference to a full exhaust system?

Cheers
Simon

Simon I'm sure they now have the scorpion exhaust you can buy I may be wrong though,

I'm unsure though if it effects the warranty, I know 2 on here have done it and don't seem fussed and one was done at dealer

My view would be stick with normal and wait for 340r pack which include exhaust and buy that unless u want a funky shaped one, then at least you get the nice certificate like I got for the Subaru authorised upgrade thus warranty still ok

More news on my Pioneer F320BT TW@T NAV

Well on my way to pick up my son from stansted Airport. need to be there for 2am. So set off nice and early 9.00pm 3 hour journey

The large section of A14 was closed for road works when I was on A14 it said the road ahead is closed would I like to re-route I said yes it took me off the A14 and I went on some lovely 3rd-4th gear roads and could see the A14 road flashing closed. But TW@T NAV tried to put me back on closed road??? FFS so back into the jungle I go ignoring its stupid plea's to go back so heading east and further into the jungle we go I follow the sat nave and guess what we are now at different Closed A14 junction. Switch it off and back on have re-route and tries again to put me back on a closed flashing road.

Luckily a local with 6 fingers and 3 thumbs came by and gave me some direction a lot of stress, cursing 51/2 hours instead of 3.

On the way back it still wanted to put us on the A14 so switched the TW@T NAV off drove to the M25 and came back on M40

the moral of the story is NEVER BUY A PIONEER unless its an old one

A few bits of admin to iron out and a final test drive (not seen this one in the flesh yet) but maybe tomorrow. Given that the brakes are down to the metal on my Outback then it probably needs to be tomorrow so they can be sorted!.

Pig roast - humm - crackling - mmmmm, nice......if work permits i'll come down providing I have the new one by then - should have.

So, have it for a test tonight/tomorrow - failed at the first hurdle - wont fit a 3m piece of unistrut in it, so had to leave that in the office, but the HP Workstation, 3 22" screens and a roll of cable fit in - not a huge load, but kind of normal for me it seems....Will be interesting to see how I get on on a round trip South in the 7-9.00am traffic.

Certainly looks great - like the seats and the ride very much - but that was 12 miles home - bigger test tomorrow. Nav system synced to the phone, but will be using it properly tomorrow!!! Fuel economy will be interesting if the av MPG guage is right - that might be the issue but we shall see.

Almost!.....have one to just make sure it fits - i'm a discerning - ok, fussy sod, so need to be sure. Looks great - sounds great - seats very comfy, like the interior and suspension/handling. Goes very well, although there is some lag so you have to get the revs up to make it exciting, but when it goes, well, thats pretty impressive.

Tough call on the saloon to be honest but its just not practical for me at all. I loved the blue one that Crossroads had done up - no lag on that at all, so a very exciting driving experience indeed. But despite that I got 30mpg on a mixed run to Northampton and back - so this is what i'm keen to see tomorrow as the mpg guage is only about 18 for what i've done so far and i've not driven it hard as its not mine to do that with.

I need to see if its a car I can live with for the driving I do, or whether Subaru just dont do the car I need right now - after 10 years and 6 Scoobys I dont want that to be the case.

i think youll find the cossie should be the same MPG or better i see on the site, and it will also hold it price better, due the fact its a LTD run the other 40k saloon i admit looks lovely but will drop like mad in price compared to that 1 your in.

Am liking your saloons but as ted says above the Hatch is so pratical, otherwise my local dealer would have had some of my hard earned and I would be contributing way more to this thread!

Its practical for sure (even if I could not get a 3m piece of metal in!!). Covered about 130 miles today - B,A and motorway driving - goes very well indeed - not too hard so makes driving on our rubbish roads pretty good.

MPG seems to be about 21/22 - i've not thrashed it at all - too much av speed camera bits on the M1!!, so that seems a bit low. Performamnce is epic, but it does only get exciting from 3000rpm, which does run out of gears quickly! and takes a bit of getting used to.

Over it ticks alot of the boxes I want from a car, but i'm still not certain......i;d be dangerous if I could make a decision.

Has to be a hatch - saloon won't work for me....

So much of my driving is motorway - Luton yesterday, standsted today - the outback I have is a boat but auto and cruises along ( also crappy jerky gearbox and a steering wobble which actually seems better since I had the brake pads changed)

Cossie was harder work and more tiring ti drive - but exhilarating too!!!
