Obviously you are too far away for me to hear the noise but if it is not too bad I would run the car for a while to see if it got worse but there again I know what I am listening for. If there is no smoke and the car is making its previous boost there is a good chance there is nothing wrong.
If you can get access to the front of the turbo check the compressor wheel is not touching on the compressor housing by applyling sideways force. Also check for in and out movement on the shaft. If it is easier drop the downpipe and check for play in and out on the shaft and then check that sideways movement does not jam rotation but be aware that the ballbearing turbo operates by a film of oil on the ballbearings.

EGT's generally caused by mapping issue where exhaust gas temps rise can have effect on head components or piston damage..

No, I'm suggesting that there is nowt wrong with the turbo and the failure is actually a piston failure. More likely on a rolling road to generate excess heat somehow: EGT, Oil temp, water temp and have the top off a piston.

Usually when a piece of debris gets in a turbo it just jams the vanes and, whilst wrecked, the turbo just stops rotating, It doesn't usually keep going but smokes.
