Nice job so far, looking forward to seeing how it pans out .

On a completely random side note, every time I see your avatar it reminds me of my old Flint Grey Sapphire Cosworth! Must be the angle, anyone else see it or am I just ??

FMIC is mint, removes the need for the scoop, you no fancy getting rid and replacing with a vent mate?

thanks a lot buddy. I have set my primary focus on getting the interior sorted for a minute as iv'e had to drive it for a while i know have the full dash in. Got a sti back seat back in, however i bought it cheap due to a tiny *** burn in it. Thats going to be replaced soon I have newage seats in along with carbon wrapped bits, carbon gaitor and mats.. I will post some new pictures for you all on saturday! i think it looks great so far and im really happy with it. The next step for me will be to get the rest of the interior flocked. Doorcards, pillar trims etc... keep you all posted!

true, there isnt really a great deal of need for the scoop now, however, its CF and looks great. As well as that, I suppose the extra air it will bring in always help with the induction and other engine components!

Cheers buddy an update for all, my wagon is now off the road parked up until the weather betters. Then I will pull out the spanners and continue the project! I have all the interior in etc, just need to update pics for you.

My next plan is to whip the engine out, and detail it! buying a hoist for the job, will add new injectors, coilpacks, pulleys and other bits and bobs! Keep you all posted!

Cheers guys, its the appreciation of others comments that makes it worth the transformation, so thanks in advance for those
Im removing the rear wiper soon, and fitting some sti suspension along with the refurbed 4 pots.
Looking to keep it stealthy so dark colours for everything. Got a great colour for the calipers i think, will post some pics when there fully painted

I did think about that, but had a few things i worried about. The first was stonechips, after a while i thought they might make it look a little rough, and secondly was the paint blocking the wafers on the FMIC.

Are the air ratio's still good when its painted?

Hello all,

been a while! scooby has been sitting around on the drive because all this crap weather we have had!

However, at given chance i have been playing around with it! I have fitted the new flocked dashboard, new plasma dials, mats, gaitors, seats etc and now await the remaining 4 door cards to be flocked so its complete inside.

I have started to prepare the car for spraying, and have treated the DS arch by knocking all the rust out, bringing the arch flush, and treating it with rust ointment. I have started to prime the car ready for a top coat, and pics will come the minute i get my iphone plugged in lol!

Right guys, here are some images on my progress so far. As you all know the weather has been the worst its been in history! so it really has been a case of grabbing the moment!

I have a few pics of the interior currently for you all :

1st, to remind you what it looked like originally....

Now ( 70% complete )

then, on to the arch :

Before

it was stepping out and looked shocking, so it needed flushing straight and all the nasty bits removing

Now after stage 1 :

Brought back, then treated with rust remover and anti-rust treatment

Now, lets get the shell stealth-afied

this is preparation, and step 1 etc.....

Prime :

Thats it for now, its a lot of work without a lot of time really, the arch will look like new when ive finished it, its primed to add even more protection!

Its the beggining of a new years build lol will update the thread when i continue my progress.

Comments welcomed!

Im having a few issues with photobucket tonight, i will post the other pics tomorrow

Quick update, swapped my bonnet over today ( again ) for a carbon one sprayed in matt black. Weighs 8kg, and only had little laquer bubbles on it, hence sprayed.

Lucky me, my cars being sprayed the same colour so great weight reduction and added value DD What you think?

Fitting the carbon scoop shown on silver bonnet to it, and have carbon fog covers in the post to me.

Reviews so far?

That arch needs cutting out surely rather than just grinding back a bit and treating? Or have I read something wrong?
