Yes, it's def thinner. Don't push on it too hard when you polish it.

Yes, it's an argument that I was glad I lost Tony (you forced me to do a bit of research).

Thanks!

There seems to be an assumption here that I'll be polishing it regularly!

Quite true!

So what colour did you guys reckon for the wheels, and what's the difference between anthracite and gun metal?

Am I the only person that thinks that different wheel makers seem to have different ideas as to what colour "anthracite" is?!

I like Luckyscoob's black hawk with "anthracite wheels". Maybe he'll post a pic of it here!

If I'd kept it, I would have put on some 18" Rota grid drifts either in bronze or a dark polish (not chrome, but like a smokey look)

SSW Mesh was also pretty, but I don't know if they would clear the caliper (not meny aftermarket allys do)

http://www.stamfordwheels.com/index....ger/view/42/18

They look good in darker tones or black spokes and a polished lip

Yes, they look good Callum.

Funny thing is, a few mins ago I was looking at GRAs in bronze!

Will only powder coat this year - your Goodyears are in good nick and we Scots have reputation to maintain. Dunno if some powder coaters do custom colours?

So does anyone know the top speed of a Type 20 with 360bhp, assuming it weighs 1390kg (actually I'm adding a second sunvisor, so 1390.3kgs!)?

I have had my spec c upto 160mph with more to give, that was at 1.2bar I think 170 plus is possible with more runway or on autobahn.

Wheel wise I'm a little partial to white at the mo, some Rota Grid Drifts as above but in white would look drop dead gorgeous.

Congratulations mate, that is one nice car, and for what its worth I think you went the right way with a JDM over a UK. I love my UK, but given the choice again, JDM it would be.

Wheels, as you know I had my gold ones painted before going for the GT1's. To be honest I went into our local bodyshop, had a look through the colour swatches and picked the colour that way. There are so many different shades and i wanted a dark metallic, not too Black and not too silver. If its any help, mine where painted in a Toyota Metallic grey and I think they were spot on. They are about the sam colour as on the RB320.

Good luck with the car

Oh, and as if by magic!

Close up of the wheel

and now with GT1's (and prodrive springs)

Wouldn't white on black make it into a pimp-mobile though Maz?

I reckon yours looks about perfect Lucky.

So were the old ones literally painted rather than powder coated? Wondering if you lose colours options with Powder coating? Mine actually need refurbished.

Anyway going to Pentland Powder Coating next week to see what options they can offer.....

They were painted. I was lucky in that a mate does it for a living. Mine needed some minor refurbing too, we rubbed them down, primed, painted and laquered them.

Not as exclusive as I thought, there must be half a dozen owners on SN.

Still, with awesome handling, excellent power and a tough Group N engine - who's complaining!?

I Trackday tutition with ADRs element at Brands a few weeks ago, The ARDs instructors said my Type20 lap times were quicker with me driving than their MSV Bmw M3

But after my first drive I was banned from having any coffee or Red Bull !!! something about a "lunitic with a @@@@@@ Rocket"

Cool. My mates reckon I should have spent my money on an M3 (better image & build quality). Not sure what the difference would be between the last model std M3 and a 2006 Type 20?

Maybe you're just a better driver? Guess there's a fair weight difference though.
