Spun a bearing that's for sure, If it's run dry then it will have gone with the crank straight away & if you refilled the oil to the correct level and are running it then your just sending swarf around the entire oil system on the vehicle which means you'll end up causing more serious damage somewhere else too.

Subaru do state on the literature that comes with each new vehicle about periodic oil level inspection and quote 1 ltr per 1000 miles is expected to disappear.

for what it's worth my warranty was void due to modifications, so to be fair it's not really there issue.

 

thanks for that info..i;m not mechanically minded,give me a house to build any day...but yeah car is parked up for now but did run it maybe for 15 miles late one night when i think the incidnet occured,not until i got off motorway i heard the noise..
