It doesn't matter if there are a thousand others for sale at higher prices. Are they selling ?? I would hazard a guess and say no.
If your car was priced for a quick sale it would of already been sold fella, the market is terrible at the moment, even for cars as nice as yours. The only way you'll sell quick is to make the price sooooo attractive somebody can't help themselves. For example, I recently let a 2005 JDM STI go for £6500. Absolutely stunning example with very sensible mods running 340. One mature owner from new with full history. It had covered a few miles more than yours but gives you a rough indication at where the market is at. A year ago that car would of made £8000 !!!!
Please don't think I'm saying your car isn't worth £8200, I actually think it should be worth a hell of alot more, but cars just aren't selling for what they should be worth.
It just depends on how long your willing to sit on it and wait. If you don't need it gone urgently then wait for a bit, but I can't see the values going up any time soon.
Good luck buddy, hopefully somebody will see it's a gooden.

£6500 for an 05 jdm sti?? things are worse than i thought! of course youre right...if i priced this at say 7.5k i am sure it would be gone within a week for a couple of hundred notes less than asking. but, i am not desparate to sell it...i have been desparate to drive it but with the extra miles i am doing my wife uses it daily and i get it at the weekend

think i will hang onto it unless someone is showing some proper interest...i love the car too much...thanks for the comments...theyre spot on.

Nice car!!!!

My advice, is not to drop the price. Problem with these cars is they have such a small target audience, but someone wanting one will be along and snap it up, it is just a matter of being patient.

I'm sure if you PM the OP he would reconsider selling it.

40,000 miles more..... that's more than a few!!!

People ARE still paying decent money for good examples (they are a hell of a lot of dogs out there) so if you do decide to sell in the future don't take peanuts for it, it's just a case of waiting for someone who appreciates a good one

This is a cheap car though on the face of it. The seller is on here too I think.

Yea agreed 40K is quite a few more, but the car I sold was a Jap spec car which (I have discovered) are quite a bit more desirable than a UK car. Plus, 100K on these newage STI engines is nothing, they really are good engines these. Ofcourse a low mileage car will demand a higher price but how much higher, is 40K really such an issue with these cars, I think not, especially when serviced correctly. I've not had any comebacks from the one I sold, (touch wood, lol).
I also agree that 'some' will make decent money still but not often. There are good ones out there advertised at bargain prices at the minute, people just want out of them it appears.
Please don't think I'm saying the OP's car isn't worth what he is asking, it's a stunning example and SHOULD be worth more than what he wants.

I really hope somebody out there can see a good one and is willing to dismiss the bargains and buy your car, from where I am sitting they would be making a very good decision.

Thanks for the reply mate, i have had a look on pistonheads and i agree there is some great deals on there, i just thought from having a Focus RS before and been on the ownersclub , better looked after ones always sell from there. Plus i'm not clued up on the Subaru STI really and don't have a clue what i should be looking for when viewing? This one that i saw yesturday looked like a really good example at a realistic price. I have PM'd him so i will see if he gets back to me.
Cheers again

...and I have PM'd you Jonny . funny...i hadnt been on for a few days and find this thread has continued without me and then i have had a couple of pm's. interesting.

i also followed those links Matty put up to PH...yup, there are some bargains out there, but also there are still quite a lot asking top money. i think i had mine a little on the low side at 8.2k but my situation still hasnt changed...i need a diesel for work and cant afford 3 cars, plus i think my better half would have something to say about that .

i am going to re-consider whether to leave it for sale on here during my week's holiday next week. i wont be re-considering the price though as i think its very fair and i wont be taking any offers...if i decide to sell it.

dont know about you guys but as much as i have petrol running through my veins, i find buying and selling motors so stressful. i got so many phonecalls via autotrader and SN that materialised into nothing...ppl saying they would get back but couldnt be bothered to ring me back etc...tbh, i got pissed off with it...you might be able to tell from some of my posts

anyway, lets keep this thread alive, at least for another week ...and thanks for all the comments lads...i do love SN!
