iOS 4.3 software update....coming soon
That's where you lost me, Vodafone had the same issues as O2? Vodafone we're selling Android phones before iPhones and yet the iPhone causes them the same issues as O2. Do you see why you're statements confuse me?

) the other networks didn't really have problems until the 4, but I'm not going into the issues but the iPhone is probably THE most demanding smartphone to date (hence O2 also offered free wi-fi via the cloud).Tony
I think we should leave it there Tony, I say tomato you say tomato. The big difference is you work for O2 and the nonsense you're spouting might change your career path, my nonsense changes nothing.

How little you know Jack, shows how short sighted you are, absolutely no clue on how things actually work
hence why I'm an engineer who understands these things and your not.

) you can tell us how ios 4.3 makes your phone work on a mobile network (remembering all those other phones out there run software that makes their phones work too)Tony
You're the expert Tony, you work for O2. I just say the iPhone is the best all the time.
4.3 is awesome by the way, Home Sharing is a win for everyone with an iOS device and a computer running iTunes, thanks Apple for making it easy.

Pretty good so far, streaming all video/audio from my iTunes library.
Other than that I doubt I'll notice any difference, that is until Tony tell us the secrets of mobile telecommunications after that I'm sure more benefits will become apparent. Can't wait to use his skills to market my own products.

I am sure that O2 offered Cloud and BT Openzone access as part of the iPhone tariffs to reduce the strain on their network (knowing potentially how much data was going to be used) and to ensure a decent experience for iPhone customers who were not in 3G enabled areas.
The tariff caps were brought in due to the proliferation of data hungry smartphones whether these be iPhone, Blackberry, Android or Windoze 7. Again due to the mobile companies wanting to limit data traffic and ensure a decent experience for all users and to minimise the potential effect on their infrastructure.

Thats the same as mate of mine says about his iPhone 4. Brilliant at everything else he uses it for except making phone calls!

I know a couple of people that have traded them in for Blackberry's for the same reason as they needed a reliable phone!

I had two 3Gs's (the second was a replacment for the first faulty one) that did that ... they just lost signal for no reason and could only be recocered by a reboot. Could be in the middle of a call or when just sat there doing nothing.

Mine just reboots while in the middle of a call. Sometimes it's fine, and sometimes it will reboot 30 seconds into a call. It's pretty useless as it has made the phone completely unreliable for calls.
There is a long thread on the Apple forums about this (and loads on the iterweb in general), as this bug seems to have been introduced with the original ios4 update. 7 months on, and APple still hasn't ackowledged that it's a problem however. Talk about great customer support...

That made me laugh that much

Sorry Jack, it really shows you have no clue

My skills are somewhat beyond yours Jack (along with the equipments used), and if you think you could actually use them to your benefit?
you really are in
landAs you can see by the other posts about the software "glitches" the Iphones suffer from (Iain, not had that problem, then again ive not upgraded from ios4.0 on my 3gs due to reported issues, as you say its apple customer care), it took apple to the release of the iphone 4 to sort out the 2g/3g issues that the iphone 3 and 3gs suffered (another brilliant bit of software there too), take note Jack, best phone on the market? please dont make me laugh
one of the worst yes, best user interface, probably, best for apps, probably, definately not the best MS.Jason, pretty much right on there, the data growth really took off from the Iphone 3, there were smart phones around before then but it was like 3g, it was there but no one really bothered with it (mainly because 2g did everything people wanted), when the iphone 2g came out there was an increase in data (as you would expect) but it was not on the sort of level you had when the 3G came out and really started to test the 3G side of mobile networks (considering 3G wasnt designed to take this sort of constant data of streaming/downloading, hence why LTE is designed for this), and the issues with radio bandwidth due to burst transmission and signalling capability of networks can also become apparent.
All the networks have had to increase their data capacity, the growth is to say the least, "extreme", and the future is seen by the telecoms industry that there will be no real money in data, unless you really start charging for going over, another reason they capped data useage now.
IOS4.3.... ill give it some time before I down load it onto the works phone
it definately wont be going on my 3GS

Your childish comments and outright insults lead me to assume you hold a low grade position within O2, I've met with thought leaders within O2 and other mobile networks and have learnt from them. You have nothing to offer and prove this every time you post.
