Brilliant news. Who wants to be common and well done HTC I'm sure you got a great deal from the Networks.

Cheaper by £50. Those that are paying over £300 for a phone, i'm sure would pay £350 for an iPhone 4. That is unless they wanted a better phone, one voted mobile of the last year and must be outselling iphones for a reason.

Common? From an iphone user. That's rich. Individual, maybe. Better phone, more than likely.

Jack, you're clearly dillusional and so blinkered it's not even funny. Everyone that "discussed" things with you have given non-biased information, yet you still choose to say otherwise, pro-apple only, calling them haters, when in fact they are clearly not. It's also getting a little tiring.

What I meant to say a bit clearer , nearly most deals come with a free desire even on the £25 p/m tariffs which will appeal more.

It's ok though as apple are rumoured to be making a pikey model to appeal to them

I love how all the Apple fans say there are no issues with the iPhone4's signal/reception.

I can categorically state there are. I have been using one on and off for a couple of months now (complicated story so I won't bore you) as wnated to find out whether it was better than the two 3GS models I had.

OK in terms of general signal strength it is better than the 3GS in that it seems to have a slightly better ability to find and hold reception and when it does lose the signal altogether it is pretty quick at finding it again whereas with the 3GS I often had to reboot it. It still is not as good at finding a signal as my old Nokia 6300 or my Nokia Broadband 3G dongle, but it is a marked improvement over the 3GS.

However the antenna issue is very real. If you do not have a cover and are left handed you will invariably lose signal during a call simply because the natural way to hold it bridges the antenna and case of the phone. You need to learn to hold it differently. This is less of a problem if you are right handed although you still have to be careful where you put your fingers.

If you think that being right handed means it wont be an issue wait until you come to SMS (the interface to which is still dire and it still doesn't give you delivery reports but that is another gripe). You cup the phone in your left hand and use your right to type the message. You hit send and the message is displayed with the infamous red exclamation mark icon to indicate it didn't go. This is because the 'cupping' in your left hand has bridged the antenna/body and cut the signal. You have to wait a few seconds and then hit the red mark and select try again whereupon it sends.

It isn't that much of an issue really, but several times I have naively assumed the SMS has been sent as I hit send and put the phone away forgetting that it probably hasn't. Why the heck it doesn't just try re-sending it automatically until it goes is beyond me.

Good points are the touch screen interface and the way things like contacts and the calendar work are still the best in the world, some of the apps you can get are superb and Facetime is a marvel. However as above I still detest the SMS interface and the reception issues annoy me as I don't want to put a 'condom' on the phone. I just cannot believe Apple didn't experience these issues in testing and that means they released a phone they knew was flawed. Why they would do that is beyond me?

Well that's nice. An idiot and a freak eh? Anything else you would like to call me? What a sad place Scoobynet is becoming when a genuine comment on normal usage of a phone gets nothing but insults.

Ever thought that a £500 phone shouldn't need a cover. Probably not as too busy working out your next insult!!!

f1, suck it up, you're well known to resort to personal insults when a thread's not going your way. Take your medicine.

Gaz, you contribute nothing to these threads but a bit of Nah, Nah, Nah, Nah, Nah. It amuses me but I doubt other's find it funny.

Go start your own threads instead of constantly delivering negative messages, it's boring.

The point is the observations are valid, but certain people (you being chief among them) will not accept any criticism of Apple devices and defend your point of view by accusing those opposing it of being haters or a bit thick or as in this case 'freaks' and the likes.

Yes I know, all OK. I was just wondering what it would take to bring my stalker running and that one post seemed to do it

My comments stand about the phone though. It is good, but flawed and at that price it shouldn't be really. The one I am using has a case it slides into for carrying, but you slide it out to use it. It isn't mine otherwise yes I would have a protector/cover on it and a different case.

"wondering what it would take to bring my stalker running"

That's stalking right there, I can assure you that I never think about you other than in pity after reading your rants.

I've given valid opinions (on-topic) to the OP. I've posted links to show relevance of other phones outselling and being better. You just don't like it because it's not 100% pro-Apple. Hell yeah! They're the best bar none, comments.

The fact you both argue over which phone is best is pretty sad tbh.

Personally I don't give a **** what phone a person has, but I do feel sorry for them if it's android

I hope you don't mean me. I don't argue, I make statements, the arguments come later from the opposition.

Why don't you two get a room? Get your iPhones out and stroke them, play with them , whatever else it is you normally do with them that makes you hard and then try out some man love on each other. If you leave the phones in view you should both be able to keep it up

Stranger Danger! He's turning the conversation to sex, that's considered grooming in certain circles.

Here's my original post. I followed it up with the link if the OP wanted to read about an option on another phone i mentioned. Do you have to ruin every thread Jack?

Forget the 3Gs
What he said. Or then if you're willing to try something other than the iPhone...there's some good phones out now and some crackers coming before the iphone5 release.

So by your own admission your only contribution to this fella's quest for his perfect iPhone was to tell him there are better phones. Well done Gaz, I'm sure the OP was over the moon with your useful contribution. Now head over to NSR there's a Blackberry thread there you can post some drivel to.
