PPP is exhaust and generic map only
330r came with PPP and 5 spoke Lustic wheels, special model to shift some cars
330s as above plus choice internal extras

Also got a PPP certificate signed by the dealer.

UPDATE,

I have been speaking to the dealer the last couple of days and they have confirmed that only a second hand rear box was fitted to my car for the pricey sum of 600.00!!, this is far different from what I was lead to believed I purchased (a S/H PPP).

Watch this space for further updates!!

I will not mention any names until this has run it course...

I'm from the southcoast but travelled 250 miles to purchase this vehicle, this is what is making it more difficult.

Do you mind PMing me as I have a similar story although nothing quite as bad/expensive, obviously I would leave it to you to decide whether to make it public or not. I know it would be a coincidence but the garage in question is 250 miles from the south coast as well.

Hope you get sorted Jim. I would have thought you are in quite a strong position to force them to fit the remainder of the pack.

Right approach as well with the dealer secrecy. Give them the opportunity to sort the issue, before the name / shame approach.

Good luck

For what it is worth I paid about £250 for my secondhand ppp backbox, and this was off a car with very low miles.

Sounds like you've been conned mate... salesman had sold you a PPP "kit" not the PPP... (bit like an Audi s-line pack in his mind)..basically a very expensive back box... the to$$ers

good luck with getting your hard earned back.... the extra 30 horses and greater torque at lower revs should be obvious over the standard car.

I took it in for a dealer remap and they did nothing at all. This didnt cost me anything as it was supposed to be done under warranty (to fix a common problem) but the point is that they said they did it but didnt. They also said that they would and did alter the steering wheel alignment, it came back exactly the same.
They did wash it for me though

Is that for the Hatch presumably?

I paid £75 for my PPP backbox for the Hawkeye, albeit a private sale.

When you call ask to speak to the Dealer Principle and explain the situation to them. In the mean time i would get a price for just the back box which i am guessing is around 350.00, plus fitting.

When talking to the DP you can discuss the cost of a new (not even second hand) b/box and all of the missing parts of the PPP not fitted or remapped. Ask for a full written explaination as to what you where charged and why you where charged for work not done as specified and paid for. Ask him to rectify the situation within 5 working days or give you a full refund.

Ask nicely but firmly and keep it polite, do not give them an opportunity to say you are unreasonable or abusive and impossible to deal with.

If you have no joy then trading standards is your next call.

I think if it went to trading standards this bit will make it more difficult. No mention of PPP, cats changes or PPP ECU change.

To my knowledge you cannot buy a new Prodrive rear box. They come ONLY as part of a full PPP, unless you get one 2nd hand of course. So impossible to get an accurate price for a new one. Subaru sell the WR Sport silencer, think that alon is about £300....Rip off!

Certainly as SRS says a 2nd rear Prodrive silencer will go for anything for £80 - £200...never seen one higher than £200, and i bought 2 in the past.

Also the invoice may say ECU reflash, because they did one....but it may have nothing to do with the PPP......that would cover the dealer, perhaps they reflashed it because there was an update available...as they might at a service!

So the WR Sport silencer is 300.00 so it gives an indication of what a PD back box should be - you have to think a little laterally and not just literally

Without going back through the whole sorry thread was the ECU re flash a standard update to newer version, not upgrade? with the PPP map?

The question is "What did i pay 600.00 for. just a backbox and if so why and why was i told i was getting effectively a second hand PPP?

The OP appears to have been rather gullible and easily parted from 600.00 but the garage or its employees also seem to be pulling a fast one - IMHO that is

You can buy a new PPP backbox if you ask, however they will be in the region of £900.

Hatch PPP boxes are a lot more complicated that the saloon hence their 2nd hand cost, this is not a PPP one but gives you an idea.

Reflash, you'd assume that if talking about this along with exhausts then it would be the PPP flash but I'd bet they say its one of the many reflashes the Hatch has had to cure engines blowing.

Either way I think the way that it has been explained its fair to say that most would assume it was a full 2nd hand PPP kit thatey were getting if offered it..

Just another update on this,

Today I have sent an Email outlying the Events, facts & comments and what I expect to resolve this matter.

So far I have had a verbal response of if I want to take this further I will need to get legal advice.

I will wait till this is confirmed in writing if they do not have a change of heart.

At that point I may name and shame depending on advice from a legal team that Im quiet friendly with.

J4mou , I know you are fully aware of the dealer were talking about, as you done me a huge favour by going out of your way to view the car prior to me driving 250miles

If you could please keep you lips sealed until this has run it course it would be greatly appreciated

I had a Prodrive quad tail pipe back box (as fitted to the 330S) fitted to my WRX-S in 2009. I bought it new at Subaru main dealer Stan Palmers in Carlisle for around £500 and put my existing as good as new Prodrive pipe in part ex for which I got around £200. So yes, the quad PPP back box can be bought separately.

Update,

Had a letter from the dealer, basiclly saying that they have done everthing on the invoice,

However, My car has only the rear box, they have stated they changed this and the centre section.

What make me laugh is the centre section is not even part of the PPP exhaust, they should have change the rearbox and 2nd cat....

Centre section is still the rusty STD one, so that hasnt been changed

The ECU reflash they are claiming is performed on every used subaru to ensure the latest software is used....

Shame it was sold to me as part of the PPP kit that i purchased.
