Depends how far we are apart, but I would be very happy to go up with you in a suitable machine and help you out with aero's.

I've always wanted to do a PPL but never had the money so I turned to flying gliders which I found cheaper. it also gave me something to do in between take off and landing (not like powered flight )

I've always wondered why I cant do a PPL in a light aircraft/ PFA for half the price of learning in a cessna.

a guy at the gliding club with a PPL told me its a very expensive way of having a bacon sandwich. Take off, fly to another airport, land, bacon sandwich and fly back

That is flying from a small strip & a non equity share scheme. Very nice plane too.

Lessons are going be dearer due to the instructor costs.

That's only the cost of renting the aircraft wet - an instructor would be an additional fee. These are planes owned by the flying school I use & they rent them at cost for hour building.

I doubt it unless you know someone who is an instructor, has the spare time & lack of need to make any money. Most of the instructors I know are not exactly living the champagne lifestyle with a lot of free time & lack of monetary constraints.

Most of the instructors I've met have been the same, they also need to eat & pay rent though.

An instructor once offered to teach me for free but the aircraft hire was £120 per hour back then and there was no way I could have afforded it free out of Uni

I would not charge, but my licence is out of date now and I can't afford the flying to get it back.

I am only too happy to fly with a licenced pilot if he wanted something like aerobatic instruction, FOC of course.

Well you need to do 12 hours & renew every 2 years, so it's probably going to cost a grand a year if you do the minimum.
