I had a R5 GT turbo at the time and really dug the buying guide for it in issue 1. Subscribed to it til about 1996, until pretty much, when the main crew split up and the format went all stupid, with UK 'glamour' girls and ****e articles. Fast Car went down the same road.

Can anyone remember M.P. was a (youngish - c.25yo) Vikki Butler-Henderson's first journalistic gig.

Ive got a load of those Max Power mags sitting in loft.
Most of them are still in their wrappers they were posted in.

Also still got the very first one unopened with the hat & keyring.
With the stupid steering wheel shaped bag it came in.

Yep, I used to feature some good cars with serious performance & not a **** body-kit in sight. They brought in the **** in order to expand readership with the advent of the "lads mag". Revs did the same & then decided not t have ****. Car mags = cars, jubblies = club international

2 things stopped me buying Max Power. 1 was the girls with hardly anything on on the front cover - if I want to feel embarresed buying a magazine I'll pull down a copy of Fiesta. And 2, I had to stop reading because the language used (wicked, phat etc etc) was making my eyes bleed.

Fast Car went first, Max Power afterwards. Revs was decent for a while then it went the same way too. Have EVO now and again but haven't bought any of the others since the late 90s.

I stopped buying max power when it went from featuring 500bhp escort cosworths on the front cover and started putting 1.2 Fiat Seicentos with £3k of halfords tat stuck on instead.

Slipstream_UK,

I am really interested those Max Power(s) if you still have them! I am also interested in any kind of other tuner magazine you might have such as Fast Car, Fast & Modified as well as Revs.

Hey JTaylor,

I really appreciate your reply but I am only interested in the tuner mags, as I could not get them in USA. Only one place in a city of 545,000+ miles of roads sold Max Power and Fast Car. Didn't even know about Revs or Fast & Modified until just a few days ago. Thank you again!

I miss magazines like these, were all the rage when I first started to modify my cars! Still actually have the very first issue of Max Power somewhere!

Used to go to Max Power live and everything, good times!

Yes got a good few of each not sure exactly how many as they're up in the loft, can have a look through them next week and let you know, if you're genuinely interested in buying them.

Oh and how much do you pay.

Hey DitchMyster,

Thank you for the response! If 2.50 pounds per issue is what you were thinking then there is no way I can do that. And I am still waiting to hear back from SlipStream_UK. How much were you thinking?

Thank you!
