This just isn't going to happen. It's not like 95% of BO was sold on Xbox! Activision will not cut out a revenue stream like that. Opening sales of if were something like 55% Xbox, 42% PS3. You can imagine someone telling the board of Activision, "look, we have a few problems with the PS3 version, so we were thinking of shutting down the PS3 side if things. I know that's going to cost you nearly half your revenue for this game, but that's ok yeah?".....

TDM is a good start as there's less camping than FFA and it's good to have teammates to cover you while you learn the maps / spawn points.

Once you get decent, dip in and try FFA as I've found the standard to be quite lower than TDM

Played 15 Games last night and won 14 and came 2nd in the other with K/d ranging between 2 & 30

 

If you want something a little more tactical instead of running around all gun ho, you could try Rainbow Six Vegas. Bet that's really cheap now too.

New map pack comes on February 1st, 4 new maps and a zombie level.

Hope they are new maps and not just updated versions of the old ones.

Calling the single player mode of black ops disappointing is being a bit kind, it's pathetic! (sod it have started now)
It's not even a real FPS which should have realistic scenarios unlike black ops where if you sit still literally hundreds of dudes will come from a tiny room! It's just a console shoot 'em up in disguise where taking territory is the only thing that will stop the tide.
A good one is like being in an action movie, the story should make you want to see what happens next, as for online i'm sure they're right, played my share of Counterstrike (free with halflife) but am too long in the tooth for that to be interesting any more.
Best FP shooters IMO are; (some quite old so poor graphics but great anyway)

Return to Castle Wolfenstein (occult monsters and **** chicks in Emma Peel type catsuits)
( NOT the remake "wolfenstein" which is ****e)
Call of Duty 2 (ze germans)

OR don't bother with FPS at all, buy a G25 and a copy of rfactor (download almost any car/track free from rfactorcentral, PC only), race against 20-30 people every night and soon you won't want to sleep!

 

Black Ops on PS3 is/was a pile of steaming poo.

Received it as a Christmas present and I have to admit to trading it after a fortnight. The single player didn't grab me, crap storyline, jumping about just to shoehorn in different maps, just blasting away like a loon. And the multiplayer was worse, didn't get one game without being kicked or migrated and over complicated customisation, and bonuses. WTF goes in to battle with a r/c car FFS!

The new MOH is superb, good game play simple power ups and playable from the start. The single player is good with a linear storyline.

cod4 will always be the daddy , because its the most realistic, no fancy "care packages . bling etc " just alot more gritty and atmosheric

 

I thought the single player was slightly over the top on blops but was still enjoyable and challenging in places, multiplayer is fecking horrendous. I know people say its only noobs that don't like the multiplayer but the only way to do well on blops is to camp and hope a few people run by for the kills, plus I find most people don't work as a team which is one of the main points of the game. For me if mw2 wasn't so hacked is still be on it most nights as it truly was a great game.

 

I think black ops is okay there are some spawning issues which they have patched but you need to delete utility data and game data utilty for bl ops and re install the patch which made a big difference for me.
As for MW2 they have sent a update which has helped i played all night with 1 dodgy game..

 

MOH single player was terrible, I bought it on release day and I did enjoy the multiplayer but the single player was far too short and very lacking IMO, far too easy and it all seemed the same throughout

 

Ok guys Activision considering in near future,new franchise will be Pay for play or just you will pay for play online content of any new COD(maybe old one's too).

Must disagree about the above, BO IMO has crap killstreak rewards (in fact I would not call them a 'reward'), the RC XD is too easy to get, and should be a reward for more kills IMO. The killstreaks are also, too easy to get, the highest killstreak required being 11.

Also, what is it with people and 'zombies' ? If you want a zombie game, get resident evil !!

gameplay isn't as good, graphics aren't as good, gun sounds not realistic and on the turtle beach headsets, you do not get as true sound as MW2 (you can pinpoint an enemy approaching, just by the sound of their footsteps!).

Camping .... As you say, that you'll get on any game, but as a 'part-time' camper myself (choose my game style to suit my enemies), in a true battle, would you run in the middle of a battle field with akimbo shotguns ?? I know I wouldn't. Camping is one of those things people like to complain about, if you don't like it, tube them , that is the reason for that kind of counter measure weapon choice and I find great pleasure in taking out a camper who thinks they have an area locked down

Tubers .... Again, not a great choice of weapon and not 'that' accurate, check their K/D ratios at the end of the game, I play games now for K/D ratios, sometimes I camp, sometimes I don't ......... Plus, there is an art to successful camping

Agree about boosters, but then I go on a booster hunt, if they are on my team, I will fire a weapon next to them to give their location away on the UAV for the enemy to find them

MLC ..... it's the choice you make if you want those perks, you could have them too ...... Don't complain, it's a gaming style! I have that one in reserve as a set class also.

Commando lunges .... Well, it's part of the perk, if you want it, you can have it too ...... It is your choice.

Quickscopers are a pain, but since BO has come out, they are very few and far between now, the big issue at present is the amount of hacks, which is a pain, I would say every fifth lobby I go in at present is hacked.

At the end of the day, the only things that you list above that annoy me are the quickscopers and boosters, apart from that, you know what you're getting if you know your perks, set up classes to get round them.

IMO the worst thing about black ops are the servers.my record has sufferd badly as ive joined meny games only to end up being kicked by the sever.i know its not just me as the whole lobby ends up restarting. i play ground war myself as theres more people involved and better games with a mix of TD/DOMINATION. loved mw2 but my last game i played in i was against spiderman homer simpson and mr smith from the matrix.shame realy but goes to show that some people just cant play the game and cheat to win

 

since the new patch for the ps3 ive never had a game drop out it seems fine now - about bloody time

the patch was the latest game update one for black ops when you go to go online it tells you theres a update I forget which version but out of 30 games plus ive had no issues so they have done something right

 

my latest update was about a week ago and im still getting probs

 

am so fed up with this game now. the whole thing just sucks. modern warfare was the benchmark, why its all got fcuked up now is beyond me. i shall be getting rid in a few weeks.

I played a game of MW2 recently and 80% of deaths were Tubes…

I play games to win and a decent k/d usually comes with it.

People who hold down an area is fine, it’s those sitting behind claymores ads at entrances that annoy me – why buy a game and do this to get 4 kills per game….

Boosters suck – Not having to deal with cheaters / hackers is brilliant.

You mentioned realism above, but none of these are realistic – I know I’ll bring a knife to a gun fight…..

 

Well, with all you've said above, I bet if you put a poll out, people would still prefer MW2 if it weren't for the hackers.

I feel the hackers are the true reason a lot have jumped ship, and not that BO is better in any way.

As much as you have come back with reasons you have quoted above, I stand by what I have said, Treyarch have made an abortion of a game !!
