Nearly there...

Well I had my mapping and installation of my Simtek with Bob Rawle today.

All went well until Bob found that the fuel pump was not performing as it should do, but it's still been mapped with a safe maps, switchable maps for 97/99 RON fuel, launch control and anti lag.

It performing to around 75-80% of it's potential, and it's stupidly fast as it is now as two local members can confirm.

I've now got to get a replacement fuel pump and then Bob needs a further 30 mins to tweak the map.

And then it will finally be over, for now that is...

Great news Ty. Whats the replacement going to be, RCM pump or Bosch? People don't seem to rate the Walbro's coming off the line these days.

I think it's going to be an RCM fuel pump TBH, I'll have to sweet talk Cath @ Advanced I think or pinch yours.

I wouldn't touch the Walbro pumps after all the problems that they've had with new pumps failing on fitment.

Glad you've finally getting there Ty, shame you have to go up there again, but a visit to Bob's is always a nice day out.

Did you fit a catch can to your setup?

As it happens Bob might be down this way in the near future so I might not have to go to Swindon, although I think the car could drive itself there.

Yes I have a Perrin catch can in place.

It's the way the LM400 just carries on pulling almost all the way to the rev limiter plus with the billet wheel it spools really well.

The LM400 makes for a very good road car, once it's final map is in place you more than welcome to jump in the passenger seat.

The estimate for the final figures are around 425-430bhp and 410 lbs ft torque.

If we counted up all that we've spent on our cars then we'd never get on the poxy coaster let alone get off it.

My 85bhp Kubistar against your 130bhp Transit, no contest I'm afraid it's all about power to weight ratio so you'd lose again.

See you tomorrow.

I've ordered an RCM fuel pump, so all ahead for 100%.
