Time to decide what to do next, EJ22, EJ25, EG33, EZ30, EZ36 or something else entirely.

Sure thing, just trying to decide on what route to take.

Sleeved & Closed Decked EJ25.
EJ22
EZ30
Something else entirely?

It's a question of budget atm.

OK, new parts purchased.

So this is going in my spare closed deck converted EJ25 (similar to what paul finch has done etc) which will be sleeved by us.

JE FSR 9.5:1 Pistons
Manely I beams with CA625+ bolts
King XPG Main Bearings
Cosworth Rod Bearings
Manley Billet Crank

Now its a waiting game, block is going to be sleeved once the dartons arrive from the US.

Got some pretty trick 80s turbo saab style headgaskets now too, if those spring a leak I don't know what were gonna do.

Had my heart set on a EJ22 from Mark at Lateral, but just don't have the funds for it.
Would've been a beast though.

Block work is still ongoing, but we've had a few parts done in the meantime.

Manley Billet Crank, gas nitrided and polished.

Blocks should be finished soon, more data to come once we get this rolling.

Hah, the car I'd like to buy is a Nissan GT-R, but they still go for around 75,000 GBP used locally.

New ones cost 125,000 GBP.

So that's not happening until I win the lottery :P

A decent used turbo Porsche (997) would set me back almost 100,000 GBP too, and I don't even really like them.

Over here new ones are around £75k but the older used ones start from £30k onwards.
They are a great piece of kit, would love to have one.

For £125k you could have yourself a nice brand new Nismo GT-R

Subaru Collector 555.

Wow, reading with interest you've spent a lot & had some rotten luck , 2 fails
The darton liners are a wise decision given the stress the last fail produced .
Subscribed & good luck with this build

The previous block also had darton sleeves and it's toast, so they likely won't help when it fails again, but I am not confident pushing the stock liners to over 700hp.

Blocks should be done next week, heads too, so with any luck it'll be running next month.

The sleeved EJ25 still isn't done...

So I went a different route.

EJ22T CDB block.
Lateral 14mm studs
Lateral 131.6mm Carillo Pro H Rods
Lateral 97.5mm Wiseco Pistons
Borg Warner EFR9180 EWG 1.05AR frontmounted.

Should be up and running in a few weeks if all goes well...

Do they keep running out of dremel bits?

You must be itching to get this put back together now. Can't believe it's taken 11 months. That's crazy!
