I can't see how Pete is a troll for posting this question.
It is a very valid point. Wages have not really increased much over the past 10 years have they? But yet House prices have practically doubled as has the price of fuel road tax and insurance.
I have just bought a new house, so no, I couldn't afford to run another scooby at the moment, although I would love to.

Well, yes, a bit - the Grammar is still woeful .... I have Carpel Tunnel Syndrome, it doesn't stop me stringing words together in a co-herent way

Yes, your car needs petrol like you need food ..... but, if you eat too much you end up as a bloated fat slab of lard who no-one loves.

In the same way, no-one wants a car which drinks too much ... it's anti-social and pointless when the 'feeling' you get can be had from a car which drinks very little.

SO what has been the point of this thread Mr.Lewis?

To antagonise and annoy, or to bring up a valid point of rising costs (for ALL vehicles, petrol/diesel/chip-fat fuelled) ?

I just dont understand why, with your honda, you would want to be part of a scooby forum, when Im sure there are Honda forums out there.

Is it because of the school-yard "my dad is harder than your dad" attitude of your underpowered, dirty, noisy and expensive diesel car is better than a scoob and you have nothing else better than to poke people to get a reaction?

My, my. I thought when I would get to your age, I would be a lot wiser, especially when it comes to taking the p155 out of people.

As far as being anti-social because of a performance car, good. Im glad im non-conforming. I like to be different. I like to have fun. When was the last time you had fun in your honda diesel? WHen you filled it up and thought, "im going to get a lot of miles out of this". If that what gets you off, then good for you Mr.Lewis. You dont see anyone slating you off about it, not unless of course, you provoke a reaction.

People have died to give me the right to be an a55hole, same as they died so you could be even a bigger a55hole. Just stop annoying the **** out of people.

If you like apples, do you take the p155 out of people who like oranges?

If you, Mr.Lewis, met anyone of the people you have slated off in this thread, would you still say the same things? I doubt it.

I hope (1) I dont live as long as you, to become one annoying tw@t and (2) if I do, I hope I have gained the sense to just be me, different and to appreciate that this world would be VERY boring if there wasnt people who liked different "things" to me.

All I have to say is.....

OH, dear that's sad about the kitten .... I didn't mean to be hurtful to such a small animal

As for everyone else, I doubt that they are little kittens and can engage in a bit of banter?

Lighten up a little and enjoy life - or are you in a bad mood as you have just filled up with fuel?

For a smart bloke you really spout some ****...

Does an athlete training get fat, no they use the calories, as does a Scoob when rubbishing a smog-mobile...

Shakes head at the troll, and departs.

That almost sounds like a threat

If I ever met Pete I would hope he is as blunt in real life as he is here, on this forum, where it is all about opinions & other points of view, other than your own.

How about you take a chill pill & not let a few words on the internet wind you up...

It's bad enough having to go to work at 6am i would rather have some enjoyment before i get there.Had a crappy rover to save money just didn't get any pleasure from driving it and it took longer to get to work.Had to get rid.It was invaluable in the snow up here a few weeks ago.I would rather do some overtime to keep me wagon on the road was thinking about a gas conversion maybe. So will own it till it rots F*ck the government they are sh*te.

Most of these people on here own a Mondeo TDCi...

I'd rather live closer to work, in theory I could get there in three minutes !

Damn those speed cameras.

And PSL is 18 years too late with the lecture, I persuaded my sister to buy a Nova SXi TD back in '93. It didn't handle but boy did it shift.

She wasted a few Nova SR's with their bouy racers in.

Nah, I'm not 18 years too late ... Diesels way back then were awful ....

Nowadays, for those with an open mind, they are every bit as good, as fun and as fast as the latter day petrol performance cars. It's just how it is.

Too many on here are sticking their heads in the sand, while all around them are making the only wise choice available ..... a modern, fast, fun, Diesel - with the running costs of a 1970's moped!

Of course, different people develop at different rates ..... some are waaaaaaay ahead of the pack, and some others are way behind struggling to keep up

Must admit filling up this morning at £1.37 a litre for v-power was a little ridiculous.

How will you feel, in April, when it is £1:50?

I genuinely do feel for those who only get 20 mpg .... we know that most of that is sat in a queue of traffic, it's rare to use the power available these days - so the costs are even more staggering .........

And of course you drove them all

Sorry but I drove it and it was a nice quick fuel efficient motorway munching girly bauble... sure it was a bit nose heavy but as a MKII Golf GTI 16V owner at the time I was impressed with the extra 10 mpg it could manage.

Sure they are even better now, but not that much.

Hmmmmmmm ..... I seem to remember that, 18 years ago, Diesels (most anyway) were not Turbo and Intercooled ... and, consequently, were awful things.

Today's Diesel is a very different beast than 18 years ago, so different you would think they now ran on rocket fuel!!

Unfortunately i had to sell my scooby too and joined the diesel club mondeo tdci and yes the costs are great, but the difference in fun and power is a little dissapointing but i am saving a few quid.

What the government need to do is drop the fuel tax and help people more.

The only reason fuel is so high is the tax the actual cost of fuel is only about 40p a litre its the damn tax grrrrr damn them kill em all barstuards
