Scooby Clinic Scooby Shootout - 2011 (Name list)
it wasnt a matter of me refusing, the only way it would go in gear is to turn the engine off and start it in first.i had brought it on the trailer so getting it home wasnt a problem.think its going to have to be a triple plate now cos i carnt keep going through twin plates like this.as for you beating me steve,we will have to wait and see about that.

......... whats up with the next round
Whilst your here, or was. What i the typical thought choice when going for a built 2.0, 2.1, 2.35, or 2.5?
Im going to do a search now, so no need to clog this thread up, but im hearing so many contradicting stories about 2.35 & 2.5's being lazy, yet this is quite easily proved wrong..... I want to start putting a little more away for our wedding (engine
) fund
.Rob. . . Just going to start searching

Lol, we have a fair few engines to build at the moment, so my own car has been pushed to one side for the next few months at least.
If you want a chat re engine configurations feel free to give me a call, we are here 9-5.30 weekdays.

I can't say I understand any of the complaints? I had great fun. My only complaint was the classes being weird..not that anyone checked what mods anyone was running to make sure we were in the right classes!
Great day though, and I had masses of fun on the handling circuit just throwing it about

why would anyone check mods? the cars should have been scrutinised to ensure safety after that you race in brackets
top car
10.3
11.3
12.3
13.3
14.3
15.3
top 4 times in each bracket race off at the end of the day. usual straightliner's affair.
He is referring to Handling Neil.
It was not split by time class as done previously. It was a bit of a strange setup for the classes. But again, it didn't take away from the day for me as I wasn't there to compete but to have fun!
I think it's probably worth reassessing the classes for next time that's all.

Does anyone know how much of a difference these head winds make to 1/4 mile times and terminals? It was the first time on the strip for my new engine and turbo and my times were a second faster than my old setup was in 2009 even with the 30mph head wind. Is there a calculation to work out roughly what they would be without the head winds etc..............
cheers guys

I think Lisa was a bit gutted we never got a chance to run the car to its potential, I've been racing way too long to let that bother me lol.
Here's a vid of the cars first ever run in the dry, on wastegate pressure of 1 bar boost, normal clutch shifts.
9.9 secs on 1 bar boost

I don't think it has that much effect on ET, probably drops a few mph off the terminal speed. That nutter on the bike still done over 190mph at the 1/2 mile lol.
Thanks for lending a hand on Sunday Alyn

So I won the top speed in modified class? No award for that I take it?
PS do we or do we not think the wind affected times etc? For me I felt it held me back after 80ish mph. My car just seemed to struggle.

Could have been a better day for me.
Strarted out with an incident in scruitinering, where by my bonnet ended up buggerd (Trevor is in the process of helping me sort this out). Then went on to have fun on the strip, new PB 12.4@105, and 130.3 flyer, happy with that for a lardy new age with only 343bhp. Then I was just getting used to the handeling circuit when I managed to snap the offside rear driveshaft, wasn`t even a hard launch. Went home on a flatbed, but never mind.
Was fun for a while, and good to meet a few people, ScoobyDoo, your car is sweet, good fun racing down the strip.

Great to meet you too mate
I need me some JDM gear ratios I think
I'm glad it was just a driveshaft, come to think of it, the noise is something I have heard before on a youtube video where a guy breaks his rear drive shaft. Hopefully you can get it sorted soon, same for the bonnet incident!
I loved your orange wheels, definitely cool on the white. Well done for being so calm about your misfortunes, shows great character. I hope to meet you again soon.
