I thought so had the day of got a mate to take me up there, I get there and its going well few nicks here and there but hey its 7 years old,Then i check the dipstick and its dry below min and below last dot gutted the o.p then tells me it was checked and it was full last week so in a week its used all the oil.
I then go check the exhaust for oil fuemes get past the condensation and yes oil smoke gutted is not the word .
Op texed to say sory so back on the look for another 1 not going for any mad miles from now on like i was told 85-100k is alot for any engine never mind a turbo'd one.

I would have bought this thing blind if i had the money! Just goes to show. IF i get lucky enough to own another Scooby i'm getting it checked over by the pro's before i hand over any cash.

As I said to Fud - apologies for the wasted journey. I'm as gutted as you are.
I had no idea it was using oil - if I was trying to pull a fast one I'd have at least made sure it was full on the dipstick.
Car is booked in on Tuesday for a diagnosis - hopefully it won't be too costly and of course it is withdrawn from sale until it's fixed. After that any RAC etc inspection is welcomed.
