Guys and girls,

I will meet you at the whitley junction (J9, M27), i will be in the lay by just after the traffic lights on the slip road about 12.10-12.15. Are you all coming off and going back on again or is just one of you coming off to get me?

Paul,

If you come off the M27- J9, i will be at the top of the hill in a sort of lay by. Simply drive over the roundabout and back down the slip road to join the M27 again.

I can only hope for the continuation of this fine weather on Saturday for Goodwood and Sunday at the Churchillian.

Hey guys, We'll still be coming, but it looks like it'll be in the Corsa so we'll make our own way there...couldn't keep up with you if we wanted too!! Scooby's in the garage

Chris was taking the Scoob to work this morning and I got a phone call about 5 minutes after his left "....er...theres been an accident" ...I was most controlled and was soon flying after him in my little Corsa...

It turns out the ofside rear tyre wall had come away from the alloy and he has spun off the side of the road after coming of a roundabout ( not going quickly - he hadn't had time ot warm up yet! ) and spun the Scoob 10ft down into a ditch Luckly Chris is fine Just a few aches...

Scooby had to be dragged out by the rescue crew, probably one of the worse things I'd witnessed as the horn kept going off and he made awful noises Made worse as something broke that they'd attached the pulley thing too (very technical me )

The front of the car is quite buggered. The whole front bumper's ruined and pushed back onto the wheel on one side the bonnet had popped up (still attached to the grill) but doesn't look bent. One wing is dented and the radiators been pushed back (couldn't open the bonnet to get a good look...). Doesn't look as bad as it could have been though...I'd like to say the scooby dealer came to the rescue, but they were useless as ever replying as I called them as Chris and flat bed were on there way "we don't have a body shop, don't bring it here!" "well do you know of one I could contact?" "There's one down the road, but you'll have to contact them" "do you know there name?" (goes away to get name) ...[img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img] Not very helpful. Especially as the delievery driver said he'd already taken 2 there this week [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img]

Oh well...I feel better for the rant. Hope you guys don't mind. They're rining us with a quote on Monday, they reckon at least £3,000, so there goes my no claims

Anyway - just glad it didn't happen on the motorway and Chris is ok.

Take it easy out there ...see you all Sunday, but we'll meet you at the pub...

Sorry to hear off your misfortune, that's very bad luck. As you say cosmetic damage always looks worse than what it is. You can repair a scoob with ease, humans tend to be a little more tricky so, I'm glad everyone is OK.

I take it the Subaru Dealer you refer to is shatts. After the dealings I have had with them, i never seem to remember the start of their name!! See you on Sunday - it could be a performance Vauxhall meet as well!!!

[img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img] I havn't been there when they havn't annoyed me...dangerous salesman on a test drive and patronising parts man when I went in to get a paint stick this was the last straw, wouldn't have gone back, but couldn't really ask the recovery man to drive to Basingstoke or Scoobysport Oh well.

Anyway, I'll assure my performance 1.2 litre Corsa Vegas is all shiney on Sunday and I'll show you all what a real car can do lol...

Looking forward to seeing Scoobies, missing mine already!

Jen/Chris: sorry to hear about the scoob, but glad to hear you are o.k mate. I will bring the details of the body shop that Chaplegate use down in poole (darracott). They sorted out my previous sport twice after it was keyed and i reversed it into a thirty foot white post !!! I have been told since, they are not the cheapest, but if its quality work you want i fully recommend them. I will dig out the receipts.

My mystery starting problem seems to have returned, and what with Simons incident, it hasnt been the best of months for the Hants mob has it.

Paul/Alan: are we still meeting up on the M27 as planned??

Chris sorry to hear about your accident, glad you are ok though. I hope you and Jen are back on the road in your Scoob soon. If its wet tomorrow and I can't go mountain bikeing I might come to the Portsmouth meet. Might be in the Corsa aswell to make up the Vauxhall numbers. If accidents happen in 3's I think I will keep my Scoob in the garage for a while, nothing new there.

helpme - this is a separate one from the Hants pub meets, check out the "on tour" thread for the latest details I think people'll want to go to Portsmouth as there are quite a few people over that way for which Bournemouth is quite a trek...

Thanks for the symapthy everyone, almost got used to the idea now We're going to have to wait until Monday for a quote, although I did a quick "drive by" to say hello to Scoob yesterday and he was up on the ramps, so hopefully it will be monday for a quote and a call to the insurance company
