How long have you had it for? How the drive in the built up areas? Hows the handling on country roads? Is it skiddish or planted?

The Impreza BCs used to be prone from nosies from the back on a small number of New age cars but this has been 100% eradicated with the new rear top mount design that was introduced earlier thsi year. The later Imprezas run the rear dampers at such an angle as to generate noise from the normal top mounts used with the BC Racing coilovers.

This design works perfectly well with the majority of the cars but not the later Imprezas. The later Imprezas transmitted noise through the top mount into the cabin. Oddly this only effected a small number of vehicles, not all. As such we had the factory make this design which is now default on all later Impreza BR Series kits. Its based on the original design and works extremely well in eliminating noise from the rear units:

As an aside, we have just had one of our trade customers on the phone, JMS Motorsport. They specialise in Ford Focus RS tuning. Performance Ford ran a track day today at Brands Hatch. One of JMS Motorsports customers was there with their 400bhp conversion and a set of BC Racing BR Series coilovers.

The customer says he was the fastest thing on track and thats including more powerful track built Focus RS's running slicks

Just a snippit of info that we just recieved that Im passing on.

Coincidently we have just had another customer on the phone who helped us develop the BC Racing kit for the Focus ST. This customer has nothing to do with the car or tuner in the post above. Hes got a BR Series ER Series kit with 300bhp and he claims that HE was the fastest car on the very same track day as the car above.

I guess they werent both out on track at the same time! Either way, both cars were on BC Racing units so all good

This is his car, an ST, chasing a later RS:

Hi All,

I have finally opted for Teins SS with the top mounts. I will be getting these fitted tomorrow along with 24mm rear arbs and drop links.

Possible overkill, but i am hoping that it transforms the overall feel and handling.

I will definitely give you all some info tomorrow.

Cheers,

J

If the knockiing noise has been irradicated i may be interested in a set for an P1. Im generally using the car as fast road but with the odd track day. What do you recommend? and what prices do they come in at?

Id recommend the default rate of 5/4kg.mm. Theyre a good compromise between say to day usability and performance. Theyre not too stiff for the road but stiff enough to perform perfectly well on track.

The BC Racing units are in stock at £679 a kit

Hi All,

A quick update with regards to my new Tein SS with top mount...

Firstly, I choose not to lower it too much as i wanted to retain the cars quality and overall look with a slight adjustment. I got a full geo alignment done too and the car does feel like a whole new beast!

The good news was the car wasn't too harsh! Don't get me wrong, it wasn't like i was driving on a bed of cushions, but the fact that i opted to drive a Scooby straight away eradicates all sorts of comfort and silence in my opinion!

This entire blog 'as a wise man once said', is a very subjective matter...

I wanted this car to make me feel like i was a crazed teenager with the power to destroy anything and everything! Now, in the real world, as much the Scooby make me feel amazing everytime i drive it, whether it be at 10mphs or 120mphs, i wanted the handling to be even better! I wanted the car to understeer less and make me have the confidence to turn in without killing myself. As a standard car, this beast made me feel like i was the greatest driver to ever live.... Now, with all the tinkering and adjustments, i can only be honest and say that it 'blew me away'.
Truthfully, first few runs around the country side were a bit skiddish! This was due to me being a plonker and truing the dampers to tight... Bumpy rounds = Soft(ish) Damping (12 clicks or less)!
After some stop overs, i managed to get a perfect(ish) setting that gave me the confidence to chuck the car around and enjoy the handling much more than when it was standard.

I am still waiting to install my rear ARB... So it can only get better!

As a whole, Teins have given me everything and more...

Thankyou to everyone that helped me out...

Cheers,

J
