Finally sorted out all the problems with replacement gauges... But worth to wait - extremely excited. Hope they will last for some time...
And one big THANKS to Bob, for organising this.

Here is one option of installing those "touch pads" with that style of pod... Maybe not so nice, but they must be somewhere...

Looking good

My pod and fitting kit arrived yesterday so if the weather improves I'll be taking a stab at putting mine in tomorrow.

Again, thanks to Bob for his efforts on this GB, much appreciated fella.

James

Might be a stupid question, but I won't know until I ask....

1a) Do the gauges change colour automatically once you turn your lights on?

1b) If they do, is white one of the colour options on the 7 LED gauges?

Only reason I ask is that I think I'll probably end up leaving them on white all the time (if possible) so is there any benefit from not wiring it up to the illumination feed - or can they be set to white anyway?

James

PS - needless to say I didn't get chance to install mine at the weekend as it lashed it down for 2 days

If you connect up the illumination feed then the gauges will dim when u turn the lights on, I'd definitely recommend this as they would be far too bright at night, the illumination feed is right there on the clock and it's labelled too (on the newage at least) so it's dead easy.

The white colour is 1 pf 7 you set this up by holding down one of the buttons this is remembered, thereafter u can change again anytime, I've changed mine several times now, green, blue then light blue and have now settled on white for the time being at least.

There are also varying degrees of brightness u can set, this can be done for daytime and nighttime I have day on brightest and night on dimmest.

I have to keep reminding myself to look at the road

Think the Illumination colour is chosen by the button. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=shiZAdEAGM8

They allways stay at the color you have set. You can manually change the color only by the touchpad.

Any yes, 7 LED ones also have white illumination. But other colors are a lot more aproapriate for night driving in my opinion, but you will see.

FINALLY got mine installed this weekend. I've not stuck the pod down yet or decided on the setup, but they're in and working

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bx0ykPnbo7Y

Decided to velcro the pod down and just keep the control buttons underneath in the top pocket - once I've decided on a colour and set them up it's not often I'll need them anyway

Awsome, got mine all sorted last weekend, not finalised yet. Working and all sexy...lol
I'm waiting for a ATI facia, so have to take it all apart again. Got to finish off the wiring too...kinda sucks.

Messed up the opening ceremony though! Trying to hold the phone with one hand and put keys in with the other, I pressed one of the star buttons on the alarm fob just after they fired up and it went a bit wrong...

I fitted mine dec 2010 pics on page 5, still very pleased with them. I've settled on white dials now after trying all the colours. Easy to fit and plenty of cable. You won't be disappointed.
