I personally think anyone who has a religous belief will always hate the other religions, unafortunately religions tends to spread hate and cause wars as history has shown.
That is a a grossly innacurate and mindless statement.

Well, partially inaccurate and slightly mindless I would say. There's a significant number of 'right-on' Christians, Buddhists are fairly tame and proponents of Jainism certainly avoid the whole hate thing but, I think the second part of the man's statement is completely accurate.
All followers of any religion are nuts in my book, but what you typically get is the "softer left wings" trying to holistically justify the entire religion - and by default this includes their "hard right wing" elements.

That is also inaccurate.
Those who follow the true tenets of the religion will not support the actions of those trying to use the religion to their own ends. You are entitled to your opinion, but you should not let your bias affect it.

You are wrong, it is not the religion which causes wars and unrest, all that is done by people!

In the sea of brazen and hopelessly inaccurate posts that this stupid thread has become, this stands out above all others, well done, good work
religion is just a word for beliefes, name a war that wasn't started due to beliefs?
only other motorvation is money
Getting into the semantics never proves anything and shows you are scratching around for an answer.
Your statement above does not prove anything about the causes of war pertaining in any way to religious beliefs. Tell us about the start of the two world wars for a start!
You're not being coherant, Les, or carrying a point.
Following on from your post, I am saying that fanatic terrorists who carry out murderous actions connected with a religion are not as you said "following that religion"
You made that remark in reply to my post#197. I hope you can work that one out now! Seemed plain enough to me.

The confusion lies with you referencing an abstraction.
Ok, so are you saying, in line with AbbasSTI on the Islamism thread, that terrorists are not following the 'correct' teachings and therefore the founder of the religion and apologists and 'true practioners' are absolved of blame?
If you're not saying that, can you make it absolutely crystal clear what your point is, please?
